Ten years ago today my heart broke in two when my sister died. It’s as if my life is now in two parts, before Betsy’s death and after. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about her, probably not even an hour. I find myself constantly wanting to tell her things. Now that it’s been 10 years, so much has changed and that’s so hard. I try not to think of how much better everything would be if she were here because that hurts too much. I just want to say, once again, how lucky I was to have her. Some people never find their soulmate but I had mine for 47 years. I love you B💕 by @ginny.w.thomas

I’m a little late to post for Father’s Day this year because I have some sad news but I post this picture almost every year (because my dad loved it) so I’m doing it once more 🩷 My dad passed away unexpectedly last month after being in the hospital with pneumonia for several weeks. I had been in Dallas visiting so I was with him the entire time, which I am so grateful for. My dad was a wonderful man, kind, funny, incredibly smart and loving. He loved my mother, sister & me fiercely. He was a “girl dad” before that was a thing and I told him not long ago that, like it or not, he was a feminist🤣🥰. Though I was closer to my mother, since her death my dad & I had gotten very tight. His death has hit me hard, first of all because even though he was 93, he had been healthy and as my dad I saw him as invincible, and secondly because he is the last one of my original little Wheelock family. With both my parents now gone, not having my sister hits even harder. There is no one left who knows me as I was then. No one to share those memories with. It has been rough. I’ll miss you, daddy. Happy Father’s Day! You were truly the best 🩷 by @ginny.w.thomas
