Totally forgot about the September spreads! 🙈💜

Here are some before-and-afters, because apparently I have a habit of finishing my spreads and then forgetting to actually post them. 😂

I’m still debating whether I should share my October spreads. On one hand, I’d be disrespecting my new mantra: „it doesn’t have to be perfect”. On the other hand, the colors I picked are so horrific that I’m not entirely sure there’s any recovering from this. LOL. 🍂

I have to admit that the past few weeks have been kind of dark for me, mentally and emotionally. While everyone is cozying up, baking cinnamon buns and drinking pumpkin spice lattes, I’m waking up in the middle of the night with nightmares and anxiety. Not exactly the autumn aesthetic I ordered.…

But one good thing is that this little corner of the internet has actually been helping me a lot. People often talk about how social media fuels anxiety and depression, but honestly? Seeing all your pretty spreads, the reading journal entries and enjoying all the little cute things you share makes me feel A LOT better. 💜 Sometimes a little bit of stationery and a peek into someone else’s cozy world really does help.

And on a completely different note, I’ve been getting into Sanderson lately, and I’m currently obsessed with “Blood and Gold”. A very guilty pleasure, apparently. 🙈📚

Goodbye, you crazy, chaotic September! 👋🏻

I know this is going to sound dramatic, but my journal has this little spread at the end called “My Month in Review”, and honestly, if I didn’t have to write some variation of “this month has been incredibly hard” there every single month, that would be fantastic. Thanks. 🥴

Don’t get me wrong, nothing horrible has happened, and I’m extremely grateful for that. It’s just the everyday stress. One thing after another, piling up, until suddenly you’re wondering how it’s already the end of the month and when exactly you were supposed to breathe.

Also, asking for a friend: do social events recharge you or drain you? 🥹

I really really hope October treats us a little more gently. And with the weather getting colder, I’m hoping for more opportunities to slow down, calm down, stay home, and have some properly cozy moments. 🍂☕️

I’ll be back in a few days with the September spreads.

A little September throwback from 2023 🐈‍⬛

This was the year we got our two ragdolls, Pączek and Mochi, so ofc my September theme had to be cats, especially ragdoll cats. And yes, I made all these stickers myself, back in the ancient era when I apparently had time to casually design my own sticker sheets. 😂

I actually never posted this setup. I just checked my old posts and apparently I made it through January, February, March and April 2023 and then… BAM. January 2024. September simply disappeared into the void.

And honestly, this is a pretty good example of something I’m learning about myself: I’m way too perfectionistic with creative projects.

I didn’t post it in time? Too late. Into the archives it goes!

I didn’t have time to colour my spreads before the middle of the month? Better skip the entire month!

No time for a perfectly coordinated theme with custom illustrations? Apparently I’m no longer allowed to bullet journal…

Meanwhile, life is happening. I work full-time, run my own company, have a garden, a house, two cats, approximately 82747383 hobbies and, occasionally, the audacity to need sleep.

I’m learning that I shouldn’t deprive myself of something I enjoy just because I can’t do it perfectly. No time for custom stickers? Slap on some washi tape and bought stickers. No time to colour everything? Leave it black and white. Starting the month halfway through? Write the month’s name and carry on.

There are notebooks waiting to be used and mountains of stickers and washi tape sitting in drawers. Creativity doesn’t have to be perfect, complete, timely or Instagram-ready to count.

So here is September 2023, approximately three years late, because apparently I needed three years of character development to post it. 🤣

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. 🤣

It’s almost the middle of September, but here are my August weekly spreads, okay? 😆

In the same spirit, I haven’t colored my September spreads yet soooo… see you in December? 😂

Okay, I guess we can move on from the customary pity party about me being late with these posts.

The beginning of September is also my wedding anniversary, so we went on a little trip to Venice. It was really lovely, and somehow I still don’t feel sick of pasta and gelato. A miracle, honestly. I haven’t had the courage to step on the scale yet, though. 🥹😂

Now that September is officially here… who’s back to school? 📚

Wishing you all a lovely September, with good books, nice weather, and at least slightly more functional time management than mine. 🤪

Hello, August! 🌺🦎

I have a confession.
Before I started coloring this spread... I didn’t really like it. 😅 I had absolutely no idea what colors to use, and the whole thing felt so intimidating. Then I decided to stop overthinking, experiment a little, and color one chameleon on the gratitude in a completely different shade of green. Somehow, it all came together, and now it’s one of those themes I’m genuinely happy with.

Second confession...
This wasn’t finished until 1 a.m. on August 10th. 🥹 Life has been life-ing lately, and I’ve been ridiculously busy.
To be fair though, August started in Berlin, so I feel like I have a decent excuse. I spent a few hours wandering around Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus, which might just be one of the most dangerous places on Earth if you like books and stationery. The self-control it took not to leave with an armful of books, notebooks, stickers, and pens deserves some kind of award. (I mean they had one of the special editions of Red Rising!!)

I did let myself buy one thing though: a new fountain pen. And I’m already a little bit in love with it.

Do you still use fountain pens?

See you soon for the August weekly spreads... and by now you know that “soon” translates to approximately 3-4 business weeks. 🤪

The *before & after pen* edition of my July setup. ✨

I'm not going to lie, July was a hard month.

I'm used to busy. Every summer tends to become a blur of work, house projects and garden chores. But this time it was a different kind of busy. The kind where your to-do list keeps shrinking, but somehow you don't feel lighter or the kind where you feel like you're running a never ending obstacle course.

Maybe that's why I'm only posting these spreads in the middle of August. 😅

Thankfully, I can already say August has started much kinder. There are still plenty of things to do, but it finally feels a bit lighter.

Meanwhile, summer is quietly slipping away. It always amazes me how the longest days somehow disappear the fastest.

So here's my little reminder, both for myself and for you:
before the season changes, pause for a minute. Sit outside with your coffee. Watch a sunset. Feel the evening air. Look at the sky for a moment. Summer doesn't always have to be a holiday to be worth remembering. 💛

Here’s my July setup. 🐚

This is probably the closest I’ll get to the sea this summer.

Not because I don’t want to go, but because somewhere between work, the house, the garden, and approximately a million projects, holidays sort of disappeared from the budget.

I’d throw myself a proper pity party, but I don’t have time for that either. Which is probably why I’m posting my July setup… at the end of July. 🥹

The funny thing is, this isn’t just happening here.

I also have a daily photography journal over at @fregolicotard. Guess where I’m currently up to?

March.

My three followers must be absolutely exhausted reading “sorry I’ve been busy” every month.

So let’s not talk about that this time.

Instead…

Have you looked at the sky today?

Not through a window while answering emails. Really looked.

If you can, step outside for a minute.

Maybe you’re lucky enough to see it over the sea. Maybe it’s above a field. Maybe all you get is a tiny square of blue framed by apartment buildings.

It doesn’t really matter.

Let’s both stop for a minute and look up.

See you there. 🤍

My July Bullet Journal Covers… and the Years That Vanished ☀️

Looking back at my July covers from 2019 to 2026, I noticed something.

There are… gaps.

Not because I stopped loving bullet journaling.
Not because I forgot about it.

But because every year, somewhere around April or May, I seem to enter a time tunnel.

Summer arrives and suddenly my life becomes one long sprint. Work piles up. The house, now the garden. Days get longer somehow, yet there are never enough hours in them.

It’s funny, because we talk about summer as the season of slowing down.

Mine has always been the exact opposite.

And then perfectionism also joins the party.

“If I can’t make the spread I imagined…” > “If it’s already halfway through the month…” > “If I didn’t have time to photograph the spreads” > “I’ll just skip it.”

Years later, those skipped months have become little blank spaces.

Lately I’ve been wondering if they would have meant more with a simple sticker and the word “July” than with nothing at all.

Maybe that’s what journaling really is.

Not creating perfect pages.
Just leaving enough breadcrumbs so your future self knows you were here.

Does anyone else have a season that completely swallows the rest of the year? 🌿

April bujo setup… delivered fashionably late.
(it’s not late, it’s… well-marinated.)

Hello hello 🌷

Here is my April setup! I absolutely love it!
I think this might be my favorite theme so far this year. The red, the gingham, the poppies… I really took my time with the coloring.

If you scroll towards the end, you’ll see the “post pen” versions, aka what happens after real life happens.

The numbers in the calendar?
They are part of a highly sophisticated, deeply scientific, absolutely-not-overengineered productivity system with multiple parameters and dual forms.
Don’t ask. Or do. But be prepared for a TED Talk you didn’t sign up for.

Real question though:
Does spring make everyone slightly… unhinged?
Like suddenly there’s more work, more ideas, more things to do, and somehow also much more chaos?
Or is it just my life currently on a rollercoaster that would make Falcon’s Flight blush (yes, I did in fact google “tallest rollercoaster in the world” for this comparison, thank you very much 💀)?

Current reads:
– The Silkworm
– Mistborn
– The Witcher (still. we are… progressing. slowly. heroically.)

“he was six and a half feet tall and had a jaw so straight it made other men question if they were.”
― Brandon Sanderson, Tress of the Emerald Sea

This is your sign to just make the imperfect version.

hello hello 🌷

This is my april timeline (2019 → 2026)… featuring a few mysterious disappearances along the way.

And by mysterious, I mean:
I was too busy to make it “perfect,” so I made… nothing. 💀

Which, in hindsight, is a very dramatic choice.
because apparently my options were:
a) create a slightly imperfect page
b) ignore my journal until next month

guess which one I picked 💀

Now I look back and think: I could’ve just glued a sticker, written “April” and moved on with my life.
no masterpiece required. just… proof that I was there.

Because that’s the thing:
these pages aren’t just spreads. they’re timestamps. little artifacts. evidence that a version of me existed in that moment.

So if you needed a sign: make the imperfect version.
future you is less interested in your perfection and more interested in your presence.

hello hello 🌵

i debated with myself whether I should still post these. it’s all my march spreads. and now it’s… *checks watch* …mid-april 🙈
but theeeen I was like: “the only rule is that there are no rules” or something inspirational like that, so here we are.

full month, start to finish. some pages are neat, some are chaos, some look like they’ve been colored by a toddler (growth 💅). but I kind of love seeing it all together like this.

this part of the caption is traditionally where I promise I’ll be back very soon with the next post…
eh. we’ll play it by ear.

reading lately: dark matter + tress of the emerald sea ✨
yes, I’ve officially started poking the giant cosmere universe. wish me luck 😬

here’s my March monthly setup 🤠

again… posting this at the end of the month because this one has been a bit rough on me. too many things happening at once, and I found myself weirdly unmotivated to do… pretty much anything.

but today I managed to spend some time in the garden, and it gave me a small mood boost in a sea of anxiety. so here it is …finally sharing these spreads🌿

I’ll come back soon with the weekly spreads as well.?

lately I’ve been reading Ingram by Louis CK. Anyone else has read it?
