Watching Sal’s wrestling career come to an end is a bittersweet moment, but man, what a run it’s been. Sal, you’ve been so much more than just a wrestler to this family you’ve been the ultimate mentor to me, Anthony, and Hannah.
Everyone knows how humble Sal is, so I’m going to do what a younger brother does best and do the bragging for him. This guy is hands down the hardest worker I’ve ever met.

He’s the kind of person who doesn’t just want to win he wants to be the best to ever do it. Whether we are playing a game of basketball in the driveway or just playing spike ball on the beach, he is the greatest competitor I know. He doesn’t just want to beat you he wants to show you why he’s different. That drive is exactly why I know he’s going to do big things in the next chapter of his life.

He was the first person I talked to when I decided to step away from the sport, and looking at it now, there is nobody more deserving than Sal to be the one to close the book on wrestling for our family. He’s given years of blood, sweat, tears, and total dedication to that mat.

Wrestling is just a small part of life, but the lessons and memories it gave our family will last forever. I’m so proud of everything you’ve done and the man you are. I love you, Sal. You really are one of a kind. The baddest to ever do it. The Cowboy. 🤠❤️ by @ginoperrine

Now that I’ve had time to reflect on everything I first wanna say how grateful I am to have such an amazing support system friends family coaches and teammates and I just wanna to thank everyone who came out not just to support me but the knights down at Columbus you guys really made an impact on our performances nothing better than hearing the crowd roar
after you get a big win. Although I did fall short of my ultimate goal I left it all out there and I’m not ashamed to say that. I left my own legacy out there. I was not in a good headspace after my first round loss and was honestly done left hopeless and didn’t know what to do until my big brother Anthony came up to me and hugged me and he told me he loved me and how proud of me he was and he just couldn’t stop smiling at me. He helped me realize that everything was gonna work out ok And at the end of the day being a state champ would be nice but it means nothing in the long run it’s just a title, but what really matters is family. I have the most supportive family I love every person in my family to death and I know win or lose they’ll still love me for who I am and the way they support me through everything you can’t beat it. Now to nordonia wrestling growing up through this program I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better group of guys to do it with from the coaches to the wrestlers the bond we have is like no other it’s unbeatable it’s really like a family. Although there are rough times we figure stuff out like a family I seriously cannot thank nordonia wrestling enough for making me the man I am today. This is truly the end of a era. Thank you nordonia wrestling GPMONEY out.✌🏼❤️ taken in The Schottenstein Center by @ginoperrine
