I'm married to the best man for 20 years next month and together for 34 years. We dated for just a bit before we made things legal. So, taking my time is natural for me. Which explains why I'm usually late to trends here. We are a friends to lovers story. Currently, we are definitely grumpy / sunshine, and it just depends on the day who is grumpy and who is sunshine. 😂 One of my favorite things about him is that he still goes along me when I tell him,'I won something' no matter how much book mail shows up.
Romantic suspense and romcoms are my favorites. I'm mostly audio in my consumption, and narrators are my rockstars!

I don't know who needs to hear this, but....

Events this year have left me with feelings all over the place. Between the loss of my sister, some ups and downs personally and the dumpster fire of a world that I see on the news every day. I'm plain tired of it.

This space has been my escape and a source of positivity. Although, along the way, I've forgotten why I started my page in the first place. The pressure and anxiety I put on myself was taking some of my joy. I am determined to take back my joy.

So now I'm sharing some random thoughts (bookish and not) as a reminder to myself and anyone else who needs to hear it. My DMs are always open if you need an ear.

On a side note, I encourage you to check out this full song by Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors. It has been my theme song for 2026 so far, and I plan to listen to it on repeat to get through the rest of the year.

__I have been slammed with unexpected work and personal commitments, so I've been absent here for the last several days. Just a quick pop in for proof of life. 😉 Be back soon, but I'll just leave this here.

🎧📚 Fan of them or not....Audiobooks have been a GAMECHANGER for me! They've given me the ability to enjoy so many more authors, books, and narrators than if I only read and for that, I am grateful.

🙋‍♀️ Hi. My name is Ginny, and I'm a special edition addict.
Nice to meet you!

Obviously, I have no self-control when it comes to special editions if you wave them in front of me. I really felt like I held back on September bookmail until I piled it up. Most of the items were ordered sporadically throughout the summer and just happened to arrive all in September. My birthday was this month, so I used that to justify my purchases. I've officially run out of room , so I'm forced to reevaluate my spending and storage.

📚📬 Here's what's in the haul.

I ordered directly from the @author.mya.more site because I needed to complete the Chestnut Mountain series.
I preordered Grim Tidings by @authorbkborison because it's one of my most anticipated reads this year. I've downloaded the audio and hope I can find time to do a little immersive reading.
Peaks and Promises by @clairekingsleybooks was ordered from Claire's home bookstore @well_read_moose to complete the Haven brothers series for my shelf.
@samantha.skye.author sends a coupon for your birthday, so of course, I ordered the Billionaires of Whispers series. Some of the narrators will be in Philly this year, so these were a must. She also included fun swag and oversized postcards from characters within the series (used as the background for the slide).
With the release of Meant for Mayhem this week, I couldn't resist the special edition box from the @aimeevancebooks shop. I opted to pass on the candy because I don't do sour. It's just wrong to order one book without the other two in the series, so I grabbed them all.
Lastly, the proof I have a real issue with tracking preorders. Just this week, I was admiring these hardcover special editions @meghanquinnbooks and was impressed with my restraint in not ordering these. They've been hanging out in my 'save for later' amazon cart. Well. surprise! Guess what was on my doorstep when I got home from work yesterday? Yep. I thought I was using restraint, but I didn't remember ordering these.

I already had several autobuy authors before starting here. However, it is ridiculous the number of authors, narrators, and books I've discovered since starting this page. I touched on authors I've discovered in this space in my meet the bookstagrammer pinned post. There are too many, and the list continues to grow. And I'm not mad about that at all. This is me literally judging a book by its cover. I went into this blind.
It's a book worth double pages for a September reading challenge I'm in, I've seen a lot of buzz about this book, and I loved the cover. So I went in without reading a blurb or knowing anything about it.
I heard the author's note and found out it takes place in the fall of 1997. This made my nostalgia loving heart happy, and I knew I made the right decision. Turns out, in the fall of 1997, I was closer to 30 than 20, and this book is hitting home more than I expected. I'm halfway through and really enjoying it so far.
