Book club is one of the best things to happen in my adult life.

My friends and I started a book club a few months back, and today we hosted our third meeting.

It has been the highlight of my year thus far.

Today was Matthew’s book, and he chose We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson, and it truly was so incredibly magical. Sophia and him had dinner and bevs prepared, blackberries with sugar (iykyk), and HE MADE EACH OF US A CERAMIC MUG AND TILE BY HAND FOR US TO PAINT. Like, get fucking real?!

One of the best days of my 26th year.

this weekend was one of the most beautiful experiences that i’ve had in quite a minute. it was filled with joy, love, laughter, and music that healed my inner child to the fullest extent. i saw artists this weekend that were so major to lil 11-year-old gio, who was so timid of expressing his queerness and petrified people would find out he was in love with t.o.p. and just admired their ‘aesthetic’, nah girl you were gay.

this weekend was a time where i was fully able to embrace the queerness that was once so suppressed. wearing outfits and articles of clothing that 11-year-old gio never imagined, and having experiences he had never fathomed possible.

also having the luxury of experiencing it with my best friends in the whole world, two who knew me at that time. getting to sing ‘pumped up kicks’ with marielle, and getting dressed and applying my glitter and sequin pashmina while grizette gets glammed like, i know middle school gio is living for current gio.

yall ever had a tall can on the L? it’s the best, try it out! i like to flip on the train, sue me! went to a baseball game yesterday it was super fab. with my beautiful friends. had super yummy food, something about ball park food is ridiculously gas! i love my friends lots. $8 TICKETS BTW! what a steal taken in Oracle Park by @gio022
