This is the best way to visit Taormina in peak summer!

Taormina gets extremely hot and crowded so unless you are going to opt for a 5 star hotel that you don’t have to leave, I recommend staying somewhere else in Sicily and doing an evening trip for dinner.

It’s a beautiful town and worth visiting, but not much is worth if you’re uncomfortably sweating…

How to spend a Sunday in Sicily:

Don’t try to go to the beach unless you can get there before 8am, or you stumble into one and find parking (like we did). Sunday’s are the most crowded days especially at the popular beaches.

It’s the perfect day to visit another city, we chose Noto which was about an hour from us, and we loved it. However if you are 2-3 hours away, I would skip it. Driving in Sicily is not a pleasant experience, so I don’t recommend spending that much time on the road, there’s so many different towns in Sicily I’m sure you can find something closer that’s just as cool to see! taken in Noto, Sicily by @gio_mineo

Then head to Lido Fontane Bianche for a relaxing beach day
