With the 16th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft, the Texas Rangers have selected left-handed pitcher Gio Rojas.

The 19-year-old enters pro ball as the top-ranked high school pitching prospect in this year’s draft after a dominant senior season at Stoneman Douglas (FL), where he posted a 0.58 ERA with 124 strikeouts in 72 innings while leading his team to another state championship.

Rojas also helped Team USA win gold at the U-18 World Cup, throwing 11 scoreless innings and earning All-World Starting Pitcher honors. The 6-foot-4 southpaw models his game after Chris Sale and is regarded as one of the most polished prep arms in the class.
