The next chapter is officially up on Bandcamp! My new EP, ā€œ6 Ć©tudes sur le Temps (After Schumann/Debussy)ā€, is out now. For this project, I wanted to turn classical structures into an immersive ambient landscape. I took my own original performance recording of the Debussy/Schumann Six Studies in Canonic Form, Op. 56 for two pianos and deconstructed it into a series of deep, relaxing drone pieces. By running the recordings through time-stretching (the amazing TS2 by @ircam_paris), automated FFT spectral processings, and later through analog delays and distortion (@makenoisemusic Strega and @schlappi_engineering 100 Grit), the source material is warped into something new, fusing digital architectures with raw, harmonic grit. This one is a very different sonic journey from the first batch, and Iā€™m so excited for you to hear it. As always, you can stream or buy the EP on Bandcamp (app or website) to support independent music. The link is in my bio, thank you for listening! <3 Artwork by me, Iā€™m planning on printing some t-shirts and tote bags with the warped Schumann and Debussy graphics, let me know if youā€™re interested .) #ambient #experimentalmusic #contemporaryclassical #touchdesigner by @giovannidinello
For those whoā€™ve been asking me this question often, but mostly for meā€¦ my music is finally online! You can find it on Bandcamp, in the app or the website version, where you can stream it and even buy it if you like it .) This first batch of uploads includes three pieces, accompanied by the beautiful designs by @rahel_jenny_egger - Oddity (2021) for augmented piano, with @l.benatti and @piaserpaolo, commissioned by @ensembleformalibera - Au Revoir (2018) for sampled piano quintet, violin and electronics, with @sofia.neri1990 - Agoraphobia (2020) for cello and live electronics, with @gaudhbr I chose Bandcamp for many reasons, such as their strict no-AI policies, because I believe in owning a music collection and supporting emerging artists, but also because itā€™s the only digital platform I use for listening to music. I hope you enjoy them, more coming very soon! The link is in my bio, but also here: giovannidinello.bandcamp.com #contemporaryclassical #ambient #experimentalmusic by @giovannidinello
Interlude, 2026 With Giovanni Dinello and Alexa Glaser Part of the group exhibit ā€šAlone Togetherā€˜ in the ICAT Gallery The multimedia installation ā€žInterludeā€œ consists of two structures in dialogue with each other. They are connected, but each element also stands on its own. With ā€žInterludeā€œ we want to open up possibilities of located experience and individual exploration, via an installation that can be touched, watched and listened to from different angles, with different perspectives. The viewer gains an intimate and individual access point by approaching the (Window)Openings within the two elements of the installation, gaining different perspectives on the realities beyond. Visitors are actively invited to approach, touch and feel the installation, becoming part of its sonic and visual resonances. We shape the space around us, while at the same time our surroundings define the limits of our scope of action. Between these two poles, a constant negotiation takes place: of paths and spaces, of walls and openings, of retreat and encounter, of isolation and community. Our social interactions adapt to these spatial conditions, while the materiality of the surfaces themselves becomes a promise-the authentic exposed concrete, the transparent glass faƧade, the enduring stone. Architecture thus appears as both a projection surface and a resonating body. In the multimedia installation Interlude, two structures enter into a dialogue: side by side, next to one another, and with one another, a spatial interlude unfolds in which construction becomes the medium and boundaries are simultaneously experienced as thresholds. by @giovannidinello

Some pictures from the premiere of ā€œRousseau, the Elegy of Reasonā€, April 2025 at Forum HfMT @hfmt_hamburg. This project marks the end of my studies in the Master Program @multimedia_hfmt under the mentorship of Alexander Schubert, and Iā€™m extremely thrilled to share it with you! Video excerpts are coming soon, if anyone is interested in the full video please reach out to me. Rousseau, the Elegy of Reason is a participatory multimedia ritual where humanity, faced with ecological and political collapse, turns to a surreal techno-mystical sacrifice instead of confronting reality. In a ceremony blending ancient rites and digital illusions, a chosen saviour is offered as a conduit to a hybrid godā€”part human, part machineā€”promising transcendence and technological salvation while the world crumbles unnoticed. Iā€™m very happy to announce that Iā€™ll be joining forces once again with the incredible @decoder.ensemble for an impressive concert!! The program features mindblowing pieces by @alexanderschubert_composer, @monikadalachsayers, @shasha_beekeeper, and @michaelbrailey. Iā€™ll be at the mixing desk through it all making sure that everything sounds great (plus youā€™ll hear my multichannel sound design in the intermissions, with visuals by Pablo Knupfer). Itā€™s been almost three years since I moved to Hamburg, and I feel really blessed to have met such incredible humans and talented musicians and to play in a venue like @elbphilharmonie with them! Many thanks to the @ligetizentrum team (particularly to Jonathan Hammoor and @xxtadexx) and the @elbphilharmonie team for the precious support. See you tomorrow!!! #elbphilharmonie #hamburg by @giovannidinello
Rousseau, the Elegy of Reason ~16.04.25 | 8.30pm, Forum @hfmt_hamburg There is no specific End of the World, no disaster, no epidemic, no war or nuclear apocalypse. The world simply fades away, dissolves, literally falls apart. No one knows (or wants to know) where this catastrophe comes from; its causes seem disconnected from the present, resembling a curse. The solution is even less predictable. Taking action is futile. Only the most senseless hope makes sense.
