The moment 20 prospective NYSC corps members who were kidnapped while travelling from Ibadan, Oyo State, to Abia and Akwa Ibom States walked out of a forest in Amakohia Ubi-Ndegwu, Owerri, Imo State, after spending seven days in captivity.

The victims were abducted along the Owerri–Onitsha Road on October 1, 2026, while travelling to their respective NYSC orientation camps.

Reports indicate that the kidnappers initially demanded a staggering ₦1 billion ransom, before reportedly reducing their demand to ₦100 million.

From where they started in Akobo to this… now THIS is growth! 👀🎓✨

Ibadanlawa team had the pleasure of witnessing the opening of Dainty Oaks School’s bigger site in Akobo, and you could genuinely feel the excitement surrounding this new chapter.

Dainty Oaks has been part of the Akobo community, and this move into a larger space is a clear reflection of growth, ambition and an evolving vision for the school.

More space, a bigger environment and even more room for students to learn, grow and thrive.

The opening was a beautiful celebration of how far the school has come and what lies ahead for the students, parents and the entire Dainty Oaks family. 👏🏾

Akobo parents, have you checked out the new Dainty Oaks site yet? 👀

Congratulations to the @mydaintyoaks management, staff, students and everyone who has been part of this journey. Here’s to the next chapter! 🥂🎓

Big travel shake-up in Oyo State as Ibadan officially joins the international flight league TODAY. The first direct Ibadan–London service takes off February 18, 2026, from the newly upgraded Samuel Ladoke Akintola International Airport.

Translation: fewer Lagos road trips, less travel drama.

Passengers across Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Kwara, and parts of Ondo can now skip the long haul to Lagos before the long haul abroad. Industry insiders say this move could spark business growth, boost tourism, and tighten UK ties.

More flight details expected soon, but one thing’s clear: Ibadan just got a major glow-up.

BREAKING: Lady Golfer Reportedly Arrested in Dubai Over Substance-Related Charges 😳

Na wah oh! Word on the street is that popular Nigerian businesswoman and socialite Blessing Osom, a.k.a Lady Golfer, has allegedly been arrested in Dubai over substance-related matters.

According to insider gist, the situation is not looking small at all. Sources say the charge is very serious — the kind that will need serious prayers and grace to come out of. 😬

Gist also has it that someone from her own camp may have quietly tipped off authorities before her trip. Apparently, the house she was staying in was already under serious watch — and from there, everything reportedly went south.

As expected, her people are trying to keep the story quiet, but you know how it goes… gist like this has legs! 👀

This is still a developing story, and more details will drop once official information comes through. Stay tuned! by @gistborough
