West Central Florida Delegation 🧑‍⚖️👩‍⚖️
meets every Monday in Mrs.bourques room!📆 19213
Debate ideas, not people!🏛️

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Let’s take a look at what a few of our delegates have been up to! ☀️
This summer, West Central Florida showed up BIG in youth in government. 🏛️
Four of our students represented our region through the Florida YMCA’s partnership with USF and the Civic Fellows institute. Quinn, Braxton, Georgia and Ketia are shown engaging in hands-on experience in civic engagement, state and local government, and leadership.
The representation didn’t stop there! At the YMCA Conference on National Affairs, Quinn took West Central Florida to the national stage, becoming the only student from Polk County to bring forward a proposal focused on AI regulations and student privacy in educational settings. ✏️🏫
From West Central Florida to Florida and then to the National stage, these students proved that their voices have a place in conversations shaping our future communities and our Country. 👩‍⚖️🌎🇺🇸👨‍⚖️ by @gjhs_yig

That’s a wrap on PY68!!

During the course of these three days our students got to step into the shoes of senators and representatives. So many fun and unforgettable memories were made and SO MANY of our students made the docket and got to present their bills in chambers. We are so incredibly proud of all the delegates! This year Hundreds of bills were carefully reviewed by the executive board and youth governor and three of our very own students received an outstanding legislation award! Congratulations Gabriel Bourque, Maya Welkier, and Madison Mayoral! taken in Florida State Capitol, Tallahassee by @gjhs_yig

As the senior class of 2024 steps out into the real world we are left with a bittersweet feeling, Throughout the youth in government program, these students have been brought closer together as the years went on. they’ve seen each other embrace opportunities, grow as people and find their true passions. Each and everyone of them has had a critical role in making our program what it is today. As we see them go we thank them for everything they’ve done for this program and we cheer them on wishing them nothing but the best throughout their future studies and careers. Goodbye seniors!🤍🏛️ taken in Your Graduation Day by @gjhs_yig
