A piece made for the holy grail unbelievable knife made by @kamon_knives This was one of the more special builds I ever did. It's a 215mm s-grind kurouchi kiritsuke with two handles.
.
One is a kluske style handle with bog oak and stainless steel and the other one is made from wrought iron and a special block the customer sent me. It's made from fossilized wood cast in dark green resin.
.
I sadly was too dumb to take some detail shots of the fossil wood one but it looked very rustic and went good with the wrought. Surely something you won't see every day.
.
The steel with this one was special too as the customer sent me bearing parts out of 1.3520 steel. It's pretty much the same as 1.3505/52100 except that it's made for bigger bearings. So the manganese levels are way higher for bigger bearings to still be able to harden properly.
.
My customer was so kind to send me way more of this steel than I needed for his knife so maybe there'll be some future projects with it. Integral knives for a change? 🤓
