It’s strange how a random photoshoot can make you feel like a totally different person, almost as if your identity is shifting.

Whether we admit it or not, we perform and conform to certain versions of ourselves depending on who we’re with and where we are. Maybe that’s why we sometimes feel more comfortable and understood by strangers we meet on a trip than by people who have known us for years.

There’s something strange about the mismatch between how we’re perceived and who we think we are, especially as we’re constantly becoming and evolving.

And maybe that’s why some of us are drawn to different forms of expression: photography, modeling, acting, even creating content. They give us space to explore parts of ourselves that don’t always have room to exist elsewhere.

This photoshoot affirmed my desire to become a different, better version of myself. I don’t know what that looks like yet, but maybe that’s the point. I’m still becoming.
