Some projects demand more than a beautiful frame—they demand a conservation solution.

For this extraordinary, oversized work on paper depicting a dramatic seated figure, GK Framing designed and fabricated a custom shadowbox that protects the artwork while allowing it to command the room. Because of its age and fragility, every detail was approached with museum-level care, from the mounting method to the spacing that keeps the artwork safely separated from the glazing.

Large-scale works on paper present unique preservation challenges. Our role is to ensure they can be enjoyed today while being protected for future generations.

Craftsmanship, conservation, and custom fabrication—all under one roof in New York City.

At GK Framing, we believe the frame is as important as the artwork itself.

Known for our museum-quality archival framing, we curate one of the most extensive collections of authentic American frame styles—from turn-of-the-century and mid-century designs to exceptional contemporary profiles for 20th and 21st century art.

Whether framing paintings, works on paper, or treasured collections, we help designers, collectors, and homeowners find the frame that feels as though it was always meant to be there.

Timeless design. Uncompromising craftsmanship. Archival standards. by @gkframing
