Before July ends 🎤 July is Jim Kerr's birthday month. Born on 9th July, 1959. And 67 years of age this month.

The first 5 @simplemindsmusic albums:
Life In A Day
Real To Real Cacophony
Expires And Dance
Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call
New Gold Dream

👏👏👏👏👏

Literally were and forever will be revolutionary 💯

Nobody sounded like Simple Minds during 1979-1982.

From their Art Rock, Experimental to European disco, Electronic, Art Pop, Synth Pop and Lavish genius.

Simple Minds really were THE band that stood out as completely a one off.

Here is Mr Jim Kerr and l back on Tuesday 13th February, 2024. During their last Australian tour

I have seen Simple Minds twice since 2006. And look forward to seeing Simple Minds again for the 3rd time next February. With Mr Gary Numan as support for the 3rd time as well 🎶🎵🎶

Released this week 40 years ago on Monday 28th July, 1986 🙏🏻✨ I'm Talking with 'Holy Word' 👏

THE greatest Dance record Australia ever produced 🇦🇺

With the phenomanal @zan_abeyratne Out front on lead vocals 🎤 Australian Soul, Funk and Boogie QUEEN 👑

Not only was and is Holy Word' instantly CLASSIC for Australian dance music. But, the video was and remains a true reflection of how truly exciting and one off Melbourne nightclubbing was.

With the perfect video filmed at ICONIC Melbourne dance club 'Chasers' 🪩 One of the most important time capsules filmed of mid 80s Melbourne 💯

I still have my original 1986 cassette tape, which l recorded from 3RRR. When Mr Alan Rados would cross over to 'Chasers' every Saturday night on his program 'Beats Per Minute' 👏🎶 With 'Holy Word' being featured that night when l was recording ⏺️

'Holy Word' peaked at number 9 in Australia and number 21 in New Zealand.

Produced by American drummer, music programmer and record producer Fred Maher. A key member from the LEGENDARY Scritti Politti 👌 From 1984-1988.

'Holy Word' was Recorded, Mixed and Remixed by Martyn Webster.

Here is my special 12" vinyl copy ⚫️
Personally signed to me by @zan_abeyratne

With added signatures by master of I'm Talking - Robert Goodge 🤲 Plus: Stephen Charlesworth and Barbara Hogarth. Which they signed for me during the INCREDIBLE I'm Talking reunion in 2019.

🤝🤩🤝🤩🤝🤩🤝🤩

I'm Talking remain for me = The GREATEST Australian Funk and Dance band 💯

Happy 40th Birthday to 'Holy Word' ⭐️🎊🎂🪩

A truly EMOTIONAL and BEAUTIFUL night just hours ago at Hoyts Cinema in Melbourne Central 🎥 With @theresa_grech @voinkaiser Watching WHAM! 10 Days in China! 🎶🎤🇨🇳

Featuring the never seen and from the vaults. All the original footage of George Michael and Andrew Ridgely in Bejing and Guangzhou.

The stunning live footage on stage and rehersals of:

Everything She Wants
If You Were There
Blue (Armed With Love)
Freedom

... AND ... The very emotinal 'Careless Whisper' with a beautiful saxaphone intro which then featured the absolutely spine chilling synth lines to then George's most breathtaking vocals were just IMMACULATE ❣️ What a voice 🪽

How l will ALWAYS love you WHAM!

You made the 80s so glorious for me growing up. I will forever be greatful to grow up in the most PERFECT era.

And may l add ... The RAW never seen footage of George getting a lower back and bum cheeks massage was HEAVEN 🫠 Stunning George 💘

And Andrew's 'fuck you' attitude from the press conference was brilliant 👏

All the new scenes of Andrew, Pepsi and Shirlie and heartwarming original Chinese fans talking now about how the Wham! tour in China = LITERALLY changed their lives was SO absolutelt incredible! 💯

Especially living in Communist China. Was really an eye opener on how repressed their culture was and is.

The power of music must never be denied!

The saddest part was Andrew returning to where he stood with George in 1985 in China. Overlooking the mountains 😢💔😩

We miss George as fans soooo much. But Andrew lost his best friend. It was truly heartbreaking 😥

I miss George so desperately and l miss Wham! so deeply ✨✨

@theresa_grech WHAM! earrings are LIFE!
