We hosted a @glasslessminds poetry workshop last month. Writers used artwork from the galleries to inspire poems written on the spot and shared at the end of the workshop. Here is one of our faves alongside the piece that inspired it from the Changing Terrain: Regional Artists Interpret Our Landscape exhibition:

I’m breathing the same air as her,
she’s laying next to me
behind us is our home,
surrounded by our ancestors
our cultura, our mexican
land we stand on.
Enjoying our elder years together.
As I smell the fresh
grass
smell the fresh trees
but I’m more focus
on her scent
This is my wealth,
this is my rich.

Thank you to all the poets and community that came out to our bilingual poetry reading, despite the merciless heat, to celebrate the power of translation and the gift of speaking multiple tongues! We had the great joy in honoring the work of Gerardo Diego’s poetry, Handbook of Foams/ Manual de Espumas, translated by @fjaragon2011

Gratitude to all my partners in crime for helping make this event possible 🥹🙌🏽❤️
