So proud of this group already! We had a great time @riksglasskolan the past two days.

Meet the group ➡️

Special thanks to @glasma_sweden for sponsoring this experience!

Shannon Spruiell @shannieartandglass

“I am a Seattle-based glass artist focused on Swedish glassmaking traditions. My work explores the relationship between function and form through sculptural vessels. The opportunity to deepen my understanding of these techniques under the guidance of professional Swedish glass artists is a rare and invaluable experience, allowing me to further develop my practice at the source of the traditions that inspire it.”

Russ Ballard @ballard.glass

“I work out of @publicglass in San Francisco. After taking my first Swedish overlay class with Greg at @bayareaglassinstitute earlier this year, I came to Sweden for a deeper dive into Graal and Ariel techniques.”

Bob Larson @rolar_glass

“The first time I saw a Swedish overlay in a class at Pratt, I was hooked. Two years later, I get to learn from the best in Sweden. Can’t wait to bring it all back to the studio.”

Anthony Kitchin @anthonykitchin

👋 “I’m Anthony Kitchin, I’ve been interested in learning Swedish techniques since 2024 and happy to takes all the blanks I’ve made back to publicglass which also uses Glasma.”

Paul Pastrone @paulpastrone

“Incredible to have been a part of this Swedish glass blowing stimulus safari! So much great energy and new learning to bring back to my home studio at Bay Area Glass Institute in California.”

Ronan Snell @ronansnellart

“I’ve been working on Swedish Overlays at MassArt since 2023, but it’s been difficult to figure it out by myself. It’s great to be here in Sweden to learn at the source.“ taken in Nybro by @glasstrapes
