Pretty solid evidence to remind myself that I can do hard things 🥹

I obviously didn’t know it was my ACL at the time but I knew it was bad… I was really scared but it was crucial I finished this match- winning would secure my spot on the national team.

While there was of course joy & gratitude for the win, I remember feeling this shadow looming over me. It was hard to feel truly happy when it felt like there was bad news waiting for me in the near future.

I held out hope that it wasn’t anything too serious while preparing myself for the worst..

I have a long road ahead of me. A road I’ve gone down before. In my weakness, God’s power is made perfect ❤️‍🩹

Serving God and pursuing greatness don’t have to be at odds 🙏🏾

…but that is easier said than done, I know. There was a time I felt I had to choose between serving God & chasing my dreams in wrestling. It felt like the culture within sport was counter to what my faith had taught me.

I started to believe these lies over time and found myself in a place of hopelessness, confusion, and uncertainty.

Eventually, I came to realize that God put those dreams on my heart. He wanted me to strive for greatness, but my mindset around what that looked like needed to change.

PROGRESS BABYYYY!!! 🤩

Just about 4 months post ACL + meniscus surgery and we’re doinnnnn it 🙌🏾

We’re finally adding jump progressions which means running should be next relatively soon 🥳 not that I enjoy running, but the sooner I can run the more wrestling I can do 💁🏾‍♀️

At the beginning of this month I was literally crying about where I was in my recovery. I felt soooo frustrated and far away from where I thought I should’ve been. Still, I put my head down and continued to work. Pushed when it made sense, pulled back when necessary.

Today, I left PT exhausted with a big smile on my face because the progress felt tangible. With that, I can’t have one without the other. There’s no way around the work of rehab, only through!!! 💪🏾

We press on ⚔️❤️‍🔥

Go INTO the pressure 💥

Many learn to clear the 2-on-1 by attacking the top hand or the opposite elbow. Both of those options are fine but how you attack it matters! I often see athletes pulling away to try and free themselves but that only makes the tie TIGHTER 😅

Pressuring back in while you attack the top hand makes all the difference 🙌🏾

When you feel safe, secure, and supported- cool stuff happens 💗

From my personal experience & insight from conversations with other women in this sport, emotional security is always something that comes up 💭

When athletes know that they can show up as they are, there is a deeper willingness to receive instruction & put forth their best efforts. Training looks different when you don’t have to worry about being judged or feel like your coach is trying to change everything about you.

Tag a coach or someone you know who has done this really well in your life 🫶🏾
