So after the fire a few weeks ago, most of the Oceanside Pier reopened this morning. Great seeing, and sharing some TV airtime with my friend Rich on Channel 10 News as well as seeing news crews from Fox5 (Elizabeth Alvarez), NBC, and CBS as the pier reopened. by @glenfarrell

A beautiful day to be out in the desert... Warm? Yes.., Warmer than back home? No.. Had the A/C in the Jeep running full blast and it barely cracked 100F. Got home and it was about 98F in Vista. by @glenfarrell

Ordinarily this would go on my Jeep page. But I have been pushing through the overcast and oft cloudy mornings and catchibg glimpses of sunlight when they occur. And I decided to take this shot as I was turning to go. by @glenfarrell

This was a special morning. It's my birthday today and the skies delivered. I was reminded how thankful I am for the friends who've walked through life. This last year was not easy and it took some turns I hadn't planned on but so far it appears to be working itself out. I truly don't deserve my family and friends but I'm blessed to have them just the same. by @glenfarrell

Today isn't a spectacular sunrise. Nor is it an anniversary, or a birthday, or anything special that I know... It is but one of a large collection of what I have termed #sunruse . I get up, check my inbox, and then saunter down to the coast to prepare myself for the day. Increasingly it has become a time of solitude. My wedding anniversary was yesterday. We had an amazing dinner and then went home and, for the first time in years, watched our wedding DVD. Only our youngest lasted through most of it. I'm reminded of the significance our society assigns to ceremony in contrast to the challenge to live on a daily basis. Now I'm not saying that the ceremony is wrong, but it is in the daily interactions with each other and what we choose to put our time and energy in that develops our relationships and defines our identity. I'm blessed even when I don't always feel like it. What stirred up mixed emotions were all those people (especially us) having fun and being reminded of those who no longer have as their address, earth. Each day is a gift and that day just happened to be a more expensive gift than most and that those special people chose to help us start our lives together means a lot. by @glenfarrell

The Great Wall of China. Been here 8 times before and this was the first time to the wall. Took a chairlift up, and a fun tobbogan ride down. Great experience crossing this off my bucket list. by @glenfarrell
