This EP and I have survived a lot since I wrote these songs (late 2019 -early 2020) Post-production was slowed by COVID and other traumas. I lost the original Ableton sessions on a laptop I left behind while escaping an abusive relationship. The “official” studio versions I wound up with sounded hollow and utterly unrecognizable. I thought about trying to get them mixed again, but so much time had passed since I’d written them that it felt like painting over a stranger’s work.

So they’re all demos. Many of the vocals are only the third or fourth take recorded between sobs in my bedroom at 3AM. They hiss and ebb in a way that is messy and human, real-time snapshots of when I was crashing out over relationships I knew were doomed to fail.

It feels deeply vulnerable to share them with you in such an intimate, nascent form, but it also feels right considering everything I and these songs have been through since they came to be.

I hope you like rats. (No, I don’t know what the title means, but maybe you do?)

A LIL UPDATE: I’ve been a bit quiet over here. There was a period where I was sure I was going to end GLITCHLETTE for good! I’d given up! The social media burnout was destroying my creativity and I couldn’t stop comparing myself to the artists around me. I kept feeling like I was missing SOMETHING, “it”, whatever that is, and that no matter what I did, I’d always be chasing something that wasn’t meant for me. I didn’t make any new music for months. It wasn’t until I released myself from my own ego and started writing songs solely for the joy of creating something that I found my passion again. So, there will be new music eventually. Maybe I’ll post some teasers. Maybe I’ll drop it on a whim. This is all to say that the GLITCH is not dead, she just had to do some reconnecting with herself. Happy birthday to SIDEPIECE HYMNAL, the first single from EVERY RAT and the herald of the Rat Era. by @glitchlette

As I prepare to release a new song and launch a new era of GLITCHLETTE, I’ve decided to share a selection of demos I made from 2017-2024, called Selected Glambient Works (17-24). The “album” is 14 tracks and available for free on my bandcamp. I do not intend to put them on streaming at this time. Some are finished songs, some are not. I hope you enjoy them nonetheless! by @glitchlette
