5 years ago today we adopted my precious sweet son & I truly think it's the best thing I've ever done and I wouldn't trade it for the world. While taking care of a dog who was afraid of everything and everyone was quite hard in the beginning (he'd get as far away from us as possible and he'd start trembling If you clapped your hands) which I absolutely struggled with it also gave my life so much more meaning as someone who's had lifelong depression and at the time was Extra suicidal™ having to take care of yoshi really was the one thing that kept me going, it rlly became my goal in life to make him the happiest possible and all I wanted was to give him a safe space. I could not (and still don't rlly) care less about myself but I just desperately wanted him to start being able to do normal doggy things like running around and playing and having people pet him. Seeing this little boy being so scared constantly was just so heartbreaking truly all I wanted was to make him happier. I spent so much time in the beginning waking up in the middle of the night and trying to calm him down because he was barking at everything bc he constantly got scared and he was shaking all the time and it was honestly exhausting but as someone who was also mentally doing bad I think it was also somehow comforting to think I wasn't alone in that and yoshi was also struggling but he was improving and thinking about that genuinely helped me so much + it was nice to feel like I was actually doing something worthwhile lol. Yoshi is still a bit more anxious than other dogs and doesn't love company that much and loud noises will still make him tremble sometimes but I really think he's gotten so much happier and more comfortable and truly nothing brings me more joy in the world than to see him being silly and happy and just acting like a normal dog because it's truly all I want for him. I hope everyday I can keep making him a little happier because he rlly has given my life so much more meaning and my heart is just so very full of love for him he's literally my biological son fr I birthed him I'm so so proud of him and I'm so proud of all the progress he's made I love my boy by @glnnle
