🌙 The white-starred robin (Pogonocichla stellata) is a species of bird in the Old World flycatcher and chat family Muscicapidae. It is a forest species, occurring in montane forest in the north of its range but closer to sea level further south.
The diet is dominated by insects, although some fruit is taken as well. It is a territorial and seasonal breeder that lays up to three eggs in a domed nest.

Ztotynka czarnogardta(Pogonocichla stellata) to gatunek ptaka z rodziny muchotowkowatych. Czasami jest tez prosciej nazywany gwiazdzistym rudzikiem.
jest to gatunek leśny, wystepujacy w lasach górskich na północy swojego zasięgu.

W diecie dominuja owady, choć zajada się również niektórymi owocami 🍒.
Jest hodowca terytorialnym i sezonowym, który składa do trzech jaj w kopulastym gnieździe.

A slightly delayed post to celebrate International Owl Awareness Day!

This was a very special and totally unexpected encounter of the pearl spotted owlet at @akagera.park , which we were lucky to enjoy for a few minutes before it decided to leave us behind and fly elsewhere to enjoy spectator-free scenery.

Sometimes all it takes is pure luck to encounter the most spectacular avian representation.

The Pearl-spotted Owlet is active mainly at dusk and dawn, but also during daytime and occasionally on moonlit nights. Prefers to sing from exposed perches, often from the tops of bushes or trees. It is locally common and thankfully listed as 'Least Concern' by IUCN.

Nieco opóźniony post z okazji Międzynarodowego Dnia Świadomości Sów!

To było bardzo wyjątkowe i zupełnie nieoczekiwane spotkanie sóweczki sawannowej w @akagera.park , którym mieliśmy szczęście cieszyć się przez kilka minut, zanim zdecydowała się onanas opuścić i polecieć gdzie indziej, aby cieszyć się scenerią wolną od widzów.

Czasami wystarczy odrobina szczęścia, aby spotkać najbardziej spektakularne ptasie przedstawienie.

Sóweczka sawannowa jest aktywna głównie o zmierzchu i świcie, ale także w ciągu dnia i okazjonalnie w księżycowe noce. Lubi ona śpiewać z odsłoniętych grzęd, często z wierzchołków krzewów lub drzew. Jest lokalnie powszechna i na szczęście wymieniony jako „najmniejszej troski” przez IUCN.

Czarny dzięcioł wylatujący z dziupli i tnący powietrze niczym strzała - odważny, skupiony, nieustępliwy. Dzięcioły to jeden z moich ukochanych gatunków, i choć ten należy do bardziej pospolitych, ta chwila była dla mnie naprawdę wyjątkowa 🥹🪺🌳 .

The black woodpecker bursts from its nest and slices through the air like an arrow — bold, focused, and unyielding. Woodpeckers are one of my favorite bird species, and although this one is fairly common, the moment felt truly special to me🥹🪺🌳.

The tawny owl and her baby are perfectly posing for this park photo shoot… and then there’s the squirrel, crashing the picture in a blur like it just couldn’t resist being part of the moment 🦉 🐿️ 🌳

A lone blue-throated bee-eater perched on a branch, looking like it’s pondering life - or maybe just the sudden downpour I was hiding from. Funny enough, the rain didn’t make it into the shot, but this bird’s dramatic pose did. A little moment of calm amidst the chaos 🩵
