Listen. Learn. Loop. Bark-Based media is the ONLY way to go… ESPECIALLY in humid South Florida! My plants get pounding rain and still recover because of the bark (mainly), perlite, and pumice at times. I do not use peat except for special occasions. Peat is a MOISTURE BUFFER; NOT a media base!! Let’s save our peat-bogs; massive carbon sinks that took millions of years to build up. 😤🤯🫠 #soilscience #cactusofinstagram #iloveplants #omri #biochar by @globalagsolutions

A. confusa grown from seed by me with seed from @codysbotanica … This year was all about structural pruning and general maintenance. Next season we will subordinate more branches, redirect others, and completely remove some more for the final branch architecture. As the canopy stretches higher and begins to fill out more, the trunk will gain gerth in caliper but for the most part the general structure is there. She’s going to be a Big and BEAUTIFUL shade tree as my front yards statement piece. Get at me for ways on how you too can grow amazing trees like this! #letsgrow #acacia #confusa #trees🌳 #iloveplants🌿 by @globalagsolutions

Lysiloma latisiliquum, AKA: “False Tamarind”- Epic Florida native, MASSIVE shade tree! This tree does not produce fruits like the aptly named fruit tree, Tamarind. However, when Dr. Dirt sees the potential to grow a fast-growing, native, sun-loving shade tree, well, I jump all over it and yank a few pods off this tree!!!! THANK YOU MOTHER NATURE FOR THE FREE SEEDS – I SHALL RETURN YOU THE FAVOR, ASAP!! by @globalagsolutions
