โœจ Mission accomplished: Congratulations to EAGLE Cohort 9! ๐Ÿฆ…

We have officially wrapped up another incredible iteration of the Emerging as Global Leaders Experience (EAGLE). Over the last few weekends, this cohort of 23 leaders in national security and public service completely leaned into the process.

They survived the intensive full-day weekend workshops, tackled complex problems using design thinking and lean startup methods, mapped out their professional network strategies, and unlocked new insights through strengths-based leadership. But more importantly, they built a community. They showed up for each other with curiosity, candor, and a shared commitment to modernizing public service.

To our newest graduates: You came in as individuals, and you leave as part of a powerful, cross-sector alumni network of mission-driven changemakers.

A massive thank you to the senior practitioners, mentors, and speakers from government, academia, and industry, Jay Long, Jake Harriman, Carrie Sue Casey, Brian E A "Beam" Maue, PhD, Jim Perkins, Dexter Ingram, Joshua Marcuse, Jon Macaskill, Myrthe Doedens, Michelle Padgett, Jimmy Anderson, Amber M. Whittington, Dr. Eric Jorgensen, and Bishop Garrison, who dedicated their time and expertise to guide this cohort.

Congratulations, Cohort 9! The future of global leadership is in excellent hands. ๐ŸŽ“ by @globallyorg

We have officially kicked off Cohort 9 of the Emerging as Global Leaders Experience (EAGLE)! Following our opening reception last week and an intensive first weekend of workshops, these exceptional leaders are already diving deep into design thinking, lean startup methods, and strengths-based leadership.

This year's cohort brings together 22 of the brightest minds in national security and public service. From dedicated civilians to mission-driven veterans, this diverse group represents the next generation of leadershipโ€”individuals who aren't afraid to challenge the status quo, embrace feedback, and find new approaches to today's most complex global challenges.

Over the next week, they will continue to build on this momentum, sharpening their professional network strategies and preparing to join a growing, cross-sector global alumni network.

Please join us in welcoming EAGLE Cohort 9 to the community! We canโ€™t wait to see the impact they will continue to make.

Strategy isnโ€™t just something you read in a memoโ€”itโ€™s something you feel when you stand on the ground where the decisions were made. Last Saturday, we traded the classroom for the battlefield, closing out our Strategy and Spirits series with a Staff Ride to @manassasnps!

After a month of deep dives into the 2026 National Security Strategy, Arctic competition, and U.S.-China relations, we spent the day "walking the ground" to see how strategic theory translates into high-stakes execution. By exploring the opening movements in Centreville and the critical decision points at Manassas, our cohort analyzed how leadership, communication, and intelligence (or the lack thereof) shape the course of history.

The day concluded with a phenomenal salon-style lunch hosted by S. Clinton Hinote, Ph.D. It was the perfect setting to synthesize the lessons of the past month, connecting the historical challenges of the 19th century to the complex geopolitical hurdles our next generation of leaders faces today.

A massive thank you to Clint for his visionary mentorship and hospitality, @bushschool_dc for being our partner throughout this entire series, our speakers (Krista Auchenbach, Iris Ferguson, Heather A. Conley, Ali Wyne, Raymond Robertson, Isaac Stone Fish and Michael Jacobson) and, not least important, our cohort for your curiosity, your grit (even in the field!), and your commitment to candid, off-the-record dialogue.

This series was designed to build a community of practitioners who arenโ€™t afraid to look at national security decisions and processes through a new lens. Judging by the conversations at the lunch table, the future of our national security community is in very capable hands.

๐Ÿš€ Ready to take the next step in your own leadership journey? Applications for EAGLE Cohort 9 are officially open! If youโ€™re a mission-driven leader ready to master design thinking and network strategy, we want to hear from you.
