Marmots.Went to this valley in the province of Naryn which was at an altitude of 3,500 metres above sea level in Kyrgyzstan to the ancient caravanserai called Tash Rabat - where travellers on the old Silk Road would stay overnight.Marmots were running about everywhere - but I couldn’t get close enough for a better image.They watched me from a distance and if I move towards their direction they’d scurry to their burrows. Golden Eagle.This was shot was taken in a village called Bokonbayevo in Kyrgyzstan where I watched an eagle hunting demonstration.Known as berkutchi in Kyrgyz ~ this ancient tradition was used as a means of survival, providing villagers with both food and clothing.It takes years of trust between the eagle and the hunter and to witness the men on their horses with their eagles on their arms was incredible to see..Golden Eagles train with their hunter for about 15 to 20 years after which the eagle is most times released back into the wild to live out their 40 to 50 years after which lifespan...#goldeneagles #kyrgyzstan🇰🇬❤️ #eaglehunters by @globalmeander
