30/08 — GLOBAL RHYTHMS #21 with NATHAARA

A budding presence in Boorloo’s electronic music community, Nathaara serves up bouncy, bright and melodic cuts of club music that span beyond what genre curtails. Bringing her thoughtful selections to Global Rhythms, expect a plethora of hard gqom drums, soulful influences, and some sonic curveballs to soundtrack your Sunday.

Originally from North West England and now based in Fremantle, MEOW has cultivated a sound shaped by years of digging through house music's deeper corners. Rooted in the soulful swing of '90s and early 2000s deep house, his selections move effortlessly between warm grooves, subtle percussion and timeless club cuts. A familiar face within the local scene through projects like Discopia and Cubby House, MEOW brings a thoughtful approach to the dancefloor, driven by a genuine passion for community, underground culture and the simple joy of sharing records.

19/07 — GLOBAL RHYTHMS #019 with DJ GLAUCIO

Originally from Rio de Janeiro, DJ GLAUCIO is a music enthusiast, vinyl lover and proud Flamengo supporter. Over the last few years, you've probably heard him on @rtrfm's El Ritmo and, from time to time, on Jamdown Vershun, as well as behind the decks at places like Astral Weeks, Cypher and The Bird.
Drawing from his carioca roots, Glaucio brings a proper mix of Brazilian music, from funk and MPB to psychedelic rock, samba and everything in between. Add a healthy dose of Jamaican roots reggae, dub and even Japanese reggae, and you've got yourself a proper musical journey.

Photographic records from a wet Sunday with our guest @flipthelidmusic.

Rain didn't stop us from doing what we do every second Sunday. Big thanks to Gib aka Flip The Lid for the sick tunes all afternoon, and to everyone who threw on a jumper, packed an umbrella and still came down for a boogie.

A reminder that a bit of rain won't stop a proper dancefloor. Winter won't stop us.

05/07 — GLOBAL RHYTHMS #018 with FLIP THE LID @flipthelidmusic

Straight outta Belfast, Ireland, Gib draws on tribal percussion, 90s progressive and tech-house grooves through the lens of Flip The Lid, blending rolling rhythms with just enough funk and disco to keep hips moving.

A recent convert to the world of vinyl, he's sharpening his craft one record at a time. Years spent in Manchester's underground, from Meat Free, Eastern Bloc, The White Hotel and Soup Kitchen to Warehouse Project, helped shape his sound and his approach to the dancefloor.

Now calling Perth home, he's found familiar ground in its tight-knit underground, where promoters, DJs and punters all play their part. Still building, still digging and always backing the community, this sunday Gib joins Global Rhythms with a bag of good tunes.

Photographic records from yesterday with our guest @_gazeli
+ a special set from @dj_mdx & @_ohcez_

Once again, it was beautiful to see the forecourt filled with happiness, familiar faces, and a few real clubbers and ravers taking over the space. A reminder that the street is still alive when people come together for the right reasons.

21/06 — GLOBAL RHYTHMS #017 with GAZELI @_gazeli

Blending electro, progressive and psychedelic influences, GAZELI crafts sounds that sit somewhere between the ethereal and the gritty, balancing cosmic atmospheres with proper swampy pressure.

As one half of @plasticity__, he's helping shape community-driven dancefloors where the music comes first and the bullshit stays outside. As co-host of Moonlight Rendezvous on @freocast, he explores deeper spaces for connection, expression and the kind of listening that keeps the underground alive.

Straight from Leicester, UK, GAZELI joins Global Rhythms carrying a touch of malandragem and a reminder that the best dancefloors are built on sweat, trust and shared moments.
