#FutureofMed2026 Session Spotlight: Former chairs of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, Dr. Michael Silverstein and Dr. John Wong, will join Boston Globe’s Health and Medical Editor Anna Kuchment to reflect on their tenures shaping the nation’s screening guidelines, as well as the politics and public scrutiny that accompanied the job. Globe Summit is back — and this year, it’s Built to Last.

For its sixth year, Globe Summit will convene New England’s boldest thinkers, leaders, and doers for two days of live journalism, big ideas, and conversations that matter.

Held at the House of Blues, this in-person extension of the Globe’s mission features three distinct spaces for programming, networking, and connection. This year’s headliners include Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Nadia Murad; Danny Meyer, founder of Union Square Hospitality Group and Shake Shack; Congressman Jake Auchincloss; and entertainer Jujubee — with many more speakers still to be announced.

Join us at Milton Public Library for a compelling conversation between author and journalist Janice Page and Boston Globe Associate Editor and Columnist Shirley Leung.

Janice will discuss her recently published memoir “Year of the Water Horse”. A New York Times Editors’ Choice, it’s a warm, witty story about mothers, mothers-in-law, and daughters that spans two continents and generations of two very different, yet connected families. The conversation traces her journey from a childhood in Braintree to a teenage job at a local Chinese restaurant that changed the course of her life.

As former Boston Globe colleagues, Janice and Shirley will also dig into the state of journalism and publishing in today’s complicated media landscape.
