“Dust & Diamonds” is a personal documentary project rooted in my experience growing up playing baseball in South Africa @bothasigbaseballclub ❤️

Some of my earliest memories were made on dusty fields with worn-out gloves, long practices under the sun, road trips with teammates and empty stands surrounding a sport that always seemed to live quietly in the shadows of the country’s bigger games.

Baseball never really had the spotlight here, but the people who played it showed up anyway — driven purely by passion, discipline, and love for the game.

As I got older, I started realizing how much beauty existed in those spaces I once overlooked. The dust in the air at sunset, the silence before a pitch, the character of the fields and the stories carried by the people still dedicating themselves to a sport that rarely gets seen.

“Dust & Diamonds” became my way of revisiting that part of my life and documenting it honestly. It’s about nostalgia, identity and the hidden culture surrounding South African baseball. A world that helped shape who I am both as a person and as a creative.
