If you know me, you know I’ve always been either planning a trip, on a trip, or talking about where I’m going next. Friends, coworkers, and family would constantly ask, “Where are you off to now?” because travel has always been such a big part of who I am.
After years in educational leadership, I decided to turn that lifelong passion for travel, planning, and creating meaningful experiences into a career in luxury travel advising.

Some of my favorite moments in Kyoto weren’t the big attractions at all. 🇯🇵

They were the quieter ones…walking through the streets, seeing the city in the rain, noticing little details, and having enough breathing room in the itinerary to simply take it all in.

That’s one of the things I love about thoughtful trip planning: it’s not about scheduling every minute. It’s about creating a trip that flows well enough to leave space for the moments you couldn’t have planned.

That was Kyoto for me. ✨

Kyoto is one of those places I really don’t think you should rush. 🇯🇵✨

Yes, the temples, gardens and iconic views are absolutely worth seeing but some of what makes Kyoto special is simply having enough time to take it all in.

If Kyoto is part of your Japan itinerary, my advice is simple: don’t treat it like a checklist. Give yourself room to wander, slow down and actually experience the city.

Travel Tuesday ✈️ 5 trips that work beautifully as group travel

Some destinations are simply easier and often more memorable when the planning, transportation, experiences, and logistics are coordinated for everyone.

From scenic Alaska sailings and milestone trips through Europe to relaxing Hawai‘i escapes, national parks, and Japan, these are a few destinations I think can work especially well when the right group comes together.

And this week feels extra special because I’ve also completed my Alaska Travel Specialist and Hawai‘i Travel Specialist certifications. ✨ I’m continuing to build destination expertise alongside my group travel training so I can better guide both individual clients and future Glo Journeys groups.

Something new at Glo Journeys ✨

I recently completed specialized training in group travel through @outsideagents and am now a Certified Groups Travel Expert.

Group travel is about much more than booking rooms and transportation. It can mean bringing together families for milestone celebrations, coordinating destination weddings and honeymoons, organizing friends or neighborhood groups, planning special-interest trips, or helping a company create an incentive getaway.

In many ways, a group travel advisor also becomes an event coordinator, destination and product specialist, and relationship builder, helping all the moving pieces come together while keeping the experience enjoyable for everyone involved.

I’m especially excited to explore future Glo Journeys group opportunities including Alaska, Hawaii, Caribbean and tropical escapes, U.S. National Parks, Europe, cruises, ski and winter trips, Japan and more.
