Summertim is here.There’s been a lot of fun in the work this year. A few years ago, someone told me that if I kept plugging away at a career change, it would take two or three years before things really started to click. They seem to have been right.These days I get to write, produce, build things, solve problems, and exercise both the creative and project-management sides of my brain. Every project is different. One day it’s a newsletter, the next it’s an event, a photo shoot, a marketing plan, or a story.I’ve never really been a Type A person (more of a type D), but juggling all these different projects has been an absolute blast. by @glorconsulting

The sport coat in question. Dispatch #2 is up! We are on a roll! I’d love to tell you I wear a sport coat because I’ve evolved into a fully formed adult. In reality, it’s a purse with lapels. A bunch of pockets, no tote bag, and just enough dignity to get through airports, meetings, and long walks in foreign cities. A brief argument for utility, mild vanity, and the jacket that does the heavy lifting.Link is in the bio and stories. Over the past two years, I’ve worn a tuxedo more times than I did in the previous forty-five. A lot has changed.I’m excited about the things I get to see and do now—travel, culture, brands, shops, the people behind them. All of it. I started a Substack (because the world clearly needed another one) as a place to write through those experiences as they’re happening.It’s called The Gus Glor Chronicles—partly to give my imposter syndrome an easy out, partly because I’ve always liked a reinvention story. It’ll be about the things I love in life and work, and the way they intersect.The first entry is about Paris, and the particular kind of magic that comes from travel.I’m freelance now so I won’t feel weird about paid subscriptions. Pitti 109 was a whirlwind. Days start at 8am and somehow run past 2 in the morning, nonstop, and still there isn’t enough time to do it all.Being there on behalf of @tailorskeep gives the whole thing a sense of purpose that I enjoy immensely . The conversations, the chance encounters, the long walks between appointments—it all adds up. A lot of good energy, and a few things lining up that feel worth getting excited about. by @glorconsulting

It’s only been three years since making a career pivot, and I couldn’t be happier with where it’s all headed with @glorconsulting . Working on a bunch of cool, varied projects with people and clients I genuinely dig. Able to get good work done without crazy hurdles. Feels right to take a beat and appreciate the moment.The latest lookbook from @tailorskeep was such a fun collaboration. I wanted a narrative that brought the suits back into the city—something that shows dressing well still matters, that fine tailoring has a place right now.Working with @spenciv makes it easy. He gets the vibe immediately, and his talent and skill are obvious in every frame.In a forward-looking city wrapped up in AI and tech vests, the past can be a useful starting point for something new. We pulled from the San Francisco of Fred Lyon and the Dashiell Hammett books I’ve read.I’ve been rereading old Glenn O’Brien pieces, and the philosophy that shines through is that dressing well can still be an act of subversion. Good clothing made with care worn with nonchalance signals a comfort with who you are in the world. Choose a sport coat - it has a bunch of pockets—which makes it basically a purse.The line between style and costume is thin. It takes attention, effort, and more than a few mistakes to find your place. I think that applies to most things. by @glorconsulting

Made the decision to let @glor_coats rest for a bit. Other projects and work have been taking more of my focus, and the new Trump tariffs pushed things over the edge.I started GLOR in 2018, and it became a real catalyst for so much good change in my life — creatively, personally, and professionally.I don’t think it’s done. But for now, I’m giving it space to breathe and seeing where inspiration leads next.Excited about @glorconsulting continuing to grow and the early success of @patinastudies Drop a line if you got a fun project to work on. by @glorconsulting
