There's no place like NYC, where you can catch two of the most thrilling artistic experiences on a whim.

Came home to New York after a fantastic week in Boston filming exteriors for @bostonbluecbs — and just made it in time to catch Death of a Salesman and Ragtime before they closed.

First, Death of a Salesman @salesmanbroadway with Laurie Metcalf and Nathan Lane. It knocked me off my feet. Extraordinary. Unforgettable.

Then Ragtime @lctheater — a completely different show, but the same passion, the same craft, the same devotion to the work. Both productions I will always remember. Both will forever inspire me.

It makes me want to create that kind of magic, that intensity, that feeling of people walking out of a theater thinking differently, feeling deeper. That's the power of theater.

Who’d have ever thought? Had the best time in enemy territory, aka Fenway Park, watching a @redsox game. I bleed @Yankees blue, but there’s nothing like being up close to the action, rival team or not. Bonus: got caught on @ESPN with @donniewahlberg! Thanks dear friend, for being the consummate host and for your generous spirit! by @gloreuben

Before Season 1 of Boston Blue, I spent a day shadowing Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden @dakevinhayden22 to understand the world my character, DA Mae Silver, lives in. And now, heading into Season 2, I went back to Boston for more.
It was wonderful to accompany DA Hayden when he went to connect with the communities he represents, and witness the mutual caring and respect: a community center prepping for National Night Out, and a park full of neighbors and officers. Maggie @magslawslawson and I had a blast.
A moment that stayed with me: watching Shirley Jones receive the Community Partner Award for the kind of work that rarely gets a spotlight — showing up, again and again, for her neighborhood.
Grateful to DA Hayden, Commissioner Michael Cox, the Boston Police @bostonpolice officers, and the DA’s office team who let me spend the day in their world — for the second time!

I don’t know how or when it happened, but I’ve fallen deeply in love with the sport of baseball, and specifically, the @yankees. What a beautiful game. See you at the stadium! #yankees #baseball #mlb by @gloreuben
