At different points in this book, I felt like jumping into the novel to fight for the protagonist!

Other times, I was so angry and frustrated with her that I wanted to shake some sense into her.

Adanna by Adesuwa Nwokedi took me through so many emotions. I felt sympathy, anger, frustration, heartbreak, and, at some points, complete disbelief.

There were moments when I understood her choices, and other moments when I found myself asking, “Girl, WHY would you do that?”

What I loved most was how the story made me emotionally invested in the characters. I wasn’t just reading about Adanna. I was feeling everything with her, rooting for her, questioning her decisions, and sometimes being mad at her.

This was definitely one of those books that made me want to put it down, take a deep breath, and come back to it because WHAT IS HAPPENING?!
😂😂😂

Adanna is flawed, complicated, frustrating, and human. And perhaps that is what made her story so compelling.

If a book can make you this emotional, you know the author has done something right.

Finished reading Nearly All the Men in Lagos Are Mad by Damilare Kuku last weekend and whew!😂

This book is chaotic, relatable, funny, annoying, and sad all at the same time.

It's a collection of short stories, so it's a pretty easy read and a good place to start if you're trying to get back into the habit of reading.

And please, don't get triggered by the title o 😂 Some of the women in these stories were moving mad too. Everybody collected their share.

I got hooked from the very first line of the first story and couldn't wait to see how each story would end.

Also, fair warning: this is an 18+ read.
The sexual scenes were quite detailed.

Overall, it was an entertaining read and I'm glad I finally got around to it.

My sisters have truly been my biggest blessing and strongest support system🤭 Since we lost our mum, we’ve held on to each other even tighter, walking through the highs and lows side by side. We plan and do things together with so much ease: no fights, no insults, just maturity, love, and deep understanding.

Distance may separate us physically, but nothing can break the unity and strength we share.
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

This week was special. We all came together under one roof, laughed until our sides hurt, reflected on how far we’ve come, and captured memories that remind us of the true beauty of family.

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

To my sisters 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️ my forever circle 🤗 thank you for being my safe place.
