Earlier this year @newlandla produced a full cut&sew job for the @nba @utahjazz.
We did the game worn breakaways warmups and a full merch run for the @counterpointofficial so Jazz fans could purchase the same warmups for this special game.

Needless to say @newlandla is a top garment production agency here in LA and I was blessed to have been given the opportunity to do so.

Garfield Heights is back at it!
When I hear about someone coming up from Garfield Heights, the streets I started on….it just hits a little harder.

I’ve met Malcolm a couple times over the decades and have been following his company @reformusa . But for whatever reason I never connected the dots till just recently.

Malcolm started skating in 1998 when a school friend showed him a skate mag, and in that mag was a photo of @kareemcampbelldotcom doing a kick flip over a fire hydrant. Malcolm was blown away. He never saw other black people skate before.
Next his schoolmate told him that “Kareem was the only black guy that could skate.”
Armed with hearing those words and the photo of Kareem burned into his mind, Malcom was on a mission to prove that kid at school wrong!
Not only did he prove that kid wrong by becoming a great skateboarder but more importantly Malcolm has been a contributor to the culture for many years now.

Not only does he have skateboarding in his blood he also has an eye and passion for fashion/cut & sew in his blood as well.
Thanks to his Mom and Grandmother which were both seamstresses.

This background was the perfect combination for him to start his own clothing company, @reformusa back in 08-09. After many set backs which included his Moms house getting broken into and his laptop stolen with all of his ideas on it, he would finally launch @reformusa in 2013.

At the not so young age of 33, in 2019 Malcolm took the leap of faith and moved to L.A.
He has been there ever since working hard on his vision.
This guy is relentless. And I find it very inspiring.
Not only is he working on his clothing line, he has now expanded to making boards, he started @newlandla to help other companies make clothing and amongst all of that, he is a rep for @lakailtd and he still skates hard!

I’m proud to share the streets of Garfield Heights with you Malcolm.
And we are all so glad that the kid in school showed you that mag and talked that shit all those years ago.
