A memorial tribute video to my best friend for over 13 years. I knew one day Id have to go through the adventure of life without him, but I just hoped that day would never come.

I was 19 years old when I rescued Travis from the pound. He had been given back several times and the facility said he would have to be put down. They allowed me to take him to a private enclosure where Travis hardly made eye contact. He clearly had no faith in humanity and I could not let him die for what others has done to him.

The first few days really tested me, but I knew Travis just needed to empty his energy. I took him to the back of the YMCA every day and we ran the soccer fields and the woods behind that. Usaine Bolt had nothing on him in those days.

We moved all around the country over the years, but to Travis is was always a new adventure - new smells waiting to be unlocked. Life will never be the same without him and I can only cherish the life we had. "It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" - most people in the world will never have experienced a relationship like ours, and I cherish the fact that I got to experience it at all.

Tonight Travis finally passed away. I was there for him until the end and he died in my arms. Ive never cried so much at losing someone.

Through the worst and best times he was always there for me. I remember getting him from the pound in 2009 and how he looked at me in the car taking him home (he had been set to be put to sleep since he was closing in on 2 weeks at the shelter). I remember the hand sized beetle that attacked us (ive lost my only other witness). I remember when I thought I had him house trained, but 3 weeks later caught him cleverly peeing in the house vents.

I didnt deserve such an amazing companion, but I tried to do right by him and give him all the love I could. Ive lost a huge part of my life and the pain of it is unreal. Nothing can prepare you for the day they leave. The joy you feel with them is the pain you feel without them.

R.I.P Travis - you meant, and still do, everything to me. by @glyphony

Changed my diet to grain-free for 3 months and have only done calisthenics (since we all have no gym)

20 Muscleups
50 Pullups
125 Pushups (varied)
