On #ZeroHIVStigmaDay, Tony and Grammy Award nominee Megan Hilty shares why she felt it was important to bring her family to this year’s AIDS Walk New York. Showing up matters because the conversations we have and the examples we set directly shape the next generation. Every act of support and every moment of visibility helps replace fear and misinformation with understanding and compassion. There is power in seeing our community in action 💪❤️ Together, we can build a future where everyone is met with dignity and respect. by @gmhc

This year’s Latex Ball is a full-on celebration of love, creativity, color and unapologetic expression. In the face of everything happening around us, we are turning the volume all the way up. We aim to rekindle a sense of joy and celebration by reintroducing vibrant colors into our Ballroom experience. Our community has always found a way to shine through every challenge, every loss, every moment that tried to dim our light. From the height of the HIV and AIDS epidemic to today, we have survived, thrived, and shown up for each other with power, resilience, and heart.More info coming soon… by @gmhc

30+ years later, we still love seeing these snapshots of her heart and compassion in action. ❤️ Mother didn’t just talk about showing up, she actually did. And if there’s dancing involved… even better ✨What’s your favorite track from the Confessions II album? Share with us in the comments! by @gmhc

In 1989, HIV/AIDS was devastating the House and Ballroom community—a community already facing deep systemic barriers to safe healthcare. Knowing something had to change, Ballroom leaders partnered with GMHC to launch the House of Latex Project—a grassroots initiative built to bring sexual health education and life-saving resources directly to the community. In 1990, GMHC filmed the PSA “Gotstabeadrag” as part of their Safer Sex Shorts to help reach the community exactly where they were. To bypass mainstream television censorship, it was distributed as a physical VHS tape directly to gay bars, balls, and public access cable stations.Between 1989 and 1993, GMHC worked closely with the community, providing safer sex materials, condoms, and vital support. This on-the-ground work culminated in 1993 with the first House of Latex Ball—a space where Ballroom was fiercely supported, and walkers living with HIV found their voice. As we get ready for this year’s Latex Ball, don’t miss a beat. Join us as we explore how the House of Latex started, celebrate its ongoing impact, and honor the icons who laid the groundwork. 🪩🏆♥️ by @gmhc

For the LGBTQ+ community, we wouldn’t be where we are today without the generations of queer trailblazers who fought for our right to live openly, love freely, and be seen for who we are ✨Today, we celebrate both our progress and our purpose — continuing to build a future where everyone has access to the healthcare and support they need ❤️Happy Fourth of July! 🎇 by @gmhc
