5 blood knights WIP 🩸🦇 Gone full vampire mode while putting some work into these stylish miniatures. Not done yet, but the finish line is not far now...

I am looking for a color palette similar to the boxart scheme, trying to make the knights stand out with a warner, more saturated and bright red.

On a side note, surprisingly I have not seen many references out there, beyond the wonderful version by Ruben @heresybrush (that horse assembled without ears though 🤣). Or should I say not enough references considering how good these models are...

Some more progress with the Lahmian thrall. Black background, which I think suits better

Luthor Von Drakenstein almost ready to lead the undead Mordheim warband -which is still in the making-. Named after the mighty blood bowl character, it's a nod to the face coming straight from the BB vampire squad. Hope you like it!!

Step-by-step spinal skin marks

This is a fast way to give that monstrous look where the back is darker than the belly, which also helps with blending on flat surfaces, concealing rough transitions.

1. Apply a clean, light base coat with a high-value color. I used AK Pastel Green

2. Draw the marks as small points or stains, starting from the center of the spine, with a dark color (I used incubi darkness). The closer to the spine, the bigger and closer to each other. Dont get too carried away and remember: sometimes less is more

3. Darken the bigger ones with a darker color, such as corvus Black.

4. Glaze the first color (incubi) towards the spine.

No need to be super accurate, as the marks are so small that imperfections are barely noticeable.

Remember: dont overlook the back side of the miniatures!! Hope you find it useful. Cheers!

Today it's World Dracula Day, to commemorate the publication date of Bram Stoker's legendary novel on 1897.

This one is an easy head swap conversion -I only sculpted the collar- for a Mordheim undead warband leader, with a strong old dracula vibe coming from the vampire blood bowl team. Also a bit of a comic look, as per the ears being huge 🤣

I tried to give it a cold ambiance, with a soft purple hue from his left and a more blueish, deep light from his right, as the area created by his right shoulder is more vertical, so it demands a higher value contrast from a zenithal approach.

While the red - orange gaze adds a strong temperature contrast that helps focusing on the face.

Just a few things left, mostly softening lights on the cape.

Happy Dracula day folks!!

Four Von Carstein skeletons join the legion, painted as a side project so I actually get something done and finished for good. Not all the i's dotted and t's crossed but calling those done so far.

Heavily inspired by the great works of @nicklas.pihlstrom (best weathering on skeletons you can find) the clean grimdark master @co.rius and @zombie.ninja.robot - the últimate reference for bone textures.

Painted using @goldenmaple_official brushes

Cheers!

Skinnerskin standard bearer WIP.

I've tested the replaceable brush heads by @goldenmaple_official and I must say they work very well. Changing the tip is easy and quick, which allows to switch from small basecoats to fine details and textures in no time. A practical and versatile tool you can get with a discount using the code GMPAINT.

Now onto the last details! Hope you like it
