HISTORY IN THE MAKING | GMWA 60

Six decades of faithfulness. Six decades of fellowship. Six decades of preserving, advancing, and celebrating the legacy of gospel music.

The Gospel Music Workshop of America, under the leadership of Chairman of the Board Bishop Albert L. Jamison, Sr., is proud to officially announce its historic 60th Board Meeting, taking place February 28 – March 4, 2027, at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott in Norfolk, Virginia.

As we embark on this milestone year, we honor the extraordinary vision of our founder, the late Rev. James Cleveland, and the generations of leaders, artists, musicians, and members whose unwavering commitment has shaped the enduring legacy of GMWA.

This is more than a celebration of where we’ve been. It is a declaration of where we’re going.

Together, we continue building upon a foundation of faith, excellence, ministry, and musical legacy as we prepare for the next generation of GMWA.

Additional details regarding registration, programming, and special guests will be announced in the coming weeks.

Our Chairman, Bishop @albertjamison7, opened the Gospel Music Workshop of America’s 59th Annual Convention yesterday during our Communion Service. It was a powerful opening session as we gathered around the Lord’s table in worship and fellowship. Bishop Jamison set the tone for the week, preparing our hearts and reminding us that everything we do must begin in the presence of God. taken in Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons by @gmwanational

We were just getting ready for the Late Night Musical, and the spirit was already HIGH! 🙌🏾🎶

“He’s Been Good to Me” says it all! God has truly been good, faithful, and better than we could ever deserve.

Thank you pastor @timrnewton for reminding us of this special GMWA moment. Take me back! 🙌🏾🔥🎤

We are officially ONE WEEK removed from our 59th Annual Convention, and if you feel anything like we do… you still weren’t ready for it to end!

Well, thanks to our Chairman, Bishop Albert L Jamison, Sr., and the GMWA Media Department, in partnership with Supreme Creative Agency, the memories of #GMWA59 can live on!

For the first time ever, we’ve created an official GMWA Convention Photo Album, filled with moments captured throughout our entire week together in Greensboro.

Download your favorite photos, cherish the memories, and share them with your family and friends. We hope these images remind you of the worship, fellowship, laughter, music, and unforgettable moments that made #GMWA59 so special.

It is always a blessing to partner with @itskevinbond.007 and @bayloruniversity (@baylorblackgospelarchive) during our GMWA Conventions.

Fun fact: GMWA is one of the largest accredited academic divisions in the world.
