Found a few down trees on a few of the summit trails. Luckily, Norwich University’s land manager took care of them quickly! I think it even adds some character to the trail. Thanks Andrew!! #trail #maintenance #partnership taken in Norwich University by @gnar_vt

Hello everyone! We are GNAR. Founded recently, we are a group dedicated to trail maintenance on Paine Mountain in Northfield VT. We are currently hoping to join VMBA to become a chapter to raise awareness and resources for the maintenance of the MTB trails.

We have a long road ahead, and a lot of work to do, but many exciting things are in the works for our trail system.

This summer, @apex_trailworks_llc will be rebuilding the skills park near the Shaw Outdoor Center due to the old skills park being destroyed by flooding.

Now that the town of Northfield is done with its new water main project on Cheney Field, we have a blank slate trail to build called “yellow trail”. This trail will be very easy to lap, and we hope to build a trail with progression for riders to work on and hone in their skills.

With permission from Norwich University Trails land manager, our group was able to have a successful first trail day on May 31st.

With continued partnership between volunteers, Norwich Trails land management and the Town of Northfield Forest land management, we hope to continue repairing orange trail. One of our staple trails designed and built by @sinuosity_flowing_trails

We are a low traffic trail system, with a lot of GNARly terrain to explore. You should come check it out.

Please stay tuned for future trail day information! taken in Northfield, Vermont by @gnar_vt
