This is my friend, Lily.

Lily is who first introduced me to NORD and Running for Rare. About 3 years ago, Eric was working on a presentation about intestinal failure and transplantation while on a flight to a conference. Lily, on her way to the NORD Summit, happened to be sitting next to him. She leaned over and told him that she was an intestinal failure patient and was curious about his work. They struck up a conversation, and ever since we have been working together to bring awareness to this organization. Eric and I have run the Colfax Marathon/Half Marathon for NORD and now I’m going to take our advocacy to NYC.

Lily has shared many miles with us and the dogs over the years. She is a college student, volunteer, advocate, one of the kindest and most resilient people I know, and a member of the rare disease community.
