The most beautiful day I never wanted. Thank you to everyone who was with us physically and in spirit. My brothers light shines in each of you. The energy of this day was unparalleled. We will never forget our brother we will carry him with us allways.

William I don't know if you can hear me but I love you, I allways will and you know that. Being your big brother is such an awesome experience. I'm so proud of you and all the difference you made in the world. I see you in every one and everything you touched. I couldn't hope to be half the man you became in 25 years. You thought me so much and you had so much more to teach. You learned so much and had so much to learn. Know you are in my heart until my last breath. You allways were the greatest explorer of us all I hope you have found something grand. You are gone from the world but not from us.

A Ball my guy. This is one hard goodby.

I followed you into the most amazing places. From that first fist bump on the summit run years ago, to that last one day Fant, you where always there to push me forward and show me those good lines. We grew into class 5 paddling together, you stayed 2 steps ahead. This worked out well for me as you where my favorite person to follow. And follow I did! You showed me down so many runs the list is enormous. I always felt safe around you even in the scariest places. You showed me this amazing skill called expressing random extreme gratitude... I am SO THANKFUL to share these adventures with you!

Out of the river you where one of the sweetest people I ever met. You asked genuine questions and where honest when you where asked. You loved pretty much everyone and everyone loved you. Even tho you never sought attention your reputation spread literally around the world. You where known for how cool you where and how hard you shred. Everyone wanted to paddle with you.

It would be impossible to contain my love grief or gratitude in a billion socal media posts. You will be remembered in every boof ear dip or steezy line. Every time I randomly hit a rock or spin out. At the bottom of drainpipe or anywhere deep in the south yuba. Total reality vortex to the top of Autobahn. #3 falls pit falls chamberlain falls. None of these places will be the same without you.

I'm gonna miss you bud like a lot. This world definitely won't be the same without you. I know you have found peace. 💙 by @gnarshredben

As most of you know 3 months ago I broke my back kayaking. I've had a lot of time to reflect on who I am and what I want to bring to the sport. I was able to reconnect with old roots learn new tricks and tap into creativity that I forgot I had. My return to gentle kayaking this week has been a huge relief. Sounds pretty terrible considering I started playing like a month ago 😉. Anyway I hope everyone's summer is rad. I'm just hanging out on a farm upstate. The back seems to be healing nicely. I'm learning lots of new things. I'll see you all at Feather Fest at the end of the line...

The South Silver Cup! This being my 2nd lap of the season I kinda got lit up. I think with a few practice laps I'll be able to clean it up and have a better time. The @liquidlogickayaks #powerslide definitely has some potential to move fast out there. Let's get some more competition next year. I'd love to see some people get down in the 3 minute realm.🤔 Anyway here’s the times!

Story time...
On 5-14 I hiked into Dinky Creek
At noon I broke my back at Willie Kerns
At 330 I crawled back to the put in car
At 2am I crawled into my childhood bed in Redding
On 5-15 I crawled to my van and drove to the @thebigflatjamboree
The rest was history by @gnarshredben
