Anime Festival Orlando 2024 was fun! I loved all of the costumes and had fun playing Tekken 8 for the first time in the game room. I even took a W against a veteran player. Photos from our ESE Collaboration training. We learned a lot about the philosophy of inclusion, best practices in co-teaching inclusion classes, and the importance of time and support for teachers (Gen. Ed and ESE).

I'm always learning new things on my journey as an educator, and I want to keep this momentum going!

So true! Even though I'm a firm believer in not over-exerting yourself to help others at your own expense, I do believe that people are often too quick to give up on each other. We're human beings, not the perfect fictional characters you might've seen on TV. by @gnerd2012

Reading Umineko: When They Cry. I'm glad I didn't watch the anime first because this visual novel takes me through so many emotions and scares. This novel has done horror, mystery, and drama so well! I'm only through the first 18 hours (out of 100), but I'm ready for the long ride! The music is amazing as well. My favorite tracks are: "Fishy Aroma", "The Golden Slaughterer", and "System 0."
I want to spoil it so bad and talk about all of the amazing moments I loved in the first arc; however, I know my Facebook friends don't care about anime lol. The few who do, I really want you to read the novel on YouTube. If any of you love horror, mystery, and emotional drama blended into one story, this is for you!
Favorite characters: Natsuhi, The Golden Witch, Maria, and Battler! I know Maria has a crazy face, but there's a reason for that lol you'll find out soon!

There's nothing more that I love than a well-written character!

I finished the entire Higurashi visual novel (100+ hours...yeesh), and I had to revisit the Tsumihoroboshi arc. I can see why Rena Ryuuguu is the fan favorite. Those notable quotes of hers really left an impact on me:

"Anybody can live a happy life. People sometimes say that some people are born to be unhappy. But, I believe that's just an excuse for people who don't want to TRY to be happy. I won't give in to fate."

"Misfortunes are like a chain reaction. Once they begin, they're very hard to get out of. You'll need more than just luck to escape. I think you need to struggle as hard as you possibly can. You need to do your best. That's how you can seize true happiness."

She should have been the main character, but since she fell under the Hinamizawa Syndrome, she became the villain. Despite the horrors of this series, she really drove home the thematic lesson that Higurashi teaches the reader. Have a strong willpower and believe that you can fight your fate to seize happiness!

Now to start another 100+ hours reading Umineko. -___-
