i’m not very good at speaking on the spot, so let’s pretend this was the speech i gave (tw: long and sappy):
like many of the people that were in lsc that day, i grew up without many asian influences, which led me to hate my culture and my asian identity. i didn’t have any asian friends throughout my childhood, but that all changed since i joined rcc. thank you guys for giving me the opportunity to represent our club and my parents’ home country, malaysia. thank you guys for the immense support, before, during, and after the show. thank you guys for being the family i really needed growing up. thank you derick, andrew, gavin, and keith for performing on stage with me, for your insane dedication and patience. thank you for locking in whenever i wasn’t able to ❤️
to vsa:
i cannot even begin to imagine the work each of one you guys contributed to put together such an amazingly successful event. thank you for giving us a platform to showcase our cultures and talents in a way we haven’t been able to do so before. and thank you for making this entire process as smooth and enjoyable as it was. mega vs-slay 🫶
and to henna, lara, gwen, sofia, and jaimie:
i couldn’t have asked for better people to share this experience with. you girls truly have the most beautiful, sweet, and genuine souls. i wish we were able to spend more time together but the short moments we did were enough for me to be immensely elated to have even met each one of you, and learn of each of your perfectly unique personalities. our exchanges on instagram, in the dressing room, and on stage really encapsulated the sentiment behind miss asia and 🎀girlhood🎀. i’ll forever treasure each moment we spent together.
