Oh, the conversations we have with our animal companions… Charm Charm Sparkles gives me THE head tilt — that slow, deliberate “go on, I’m listening” tilt — and Lyric chimes in with commentary nobody asked for and everybody needed.

They’re not just responding to words. They’re reading tone, cadence, face, energy. Dogs tilt to locate sound and to keep your expression in view. Cockatoos mimic because they’ve decided you’re flock.

That’s not cute. That’s connection.

Hey Flamboyance!!!!!!
Question for you — when do y’all meditate?
With these summer temps I’ve changed up my meditation time. Still morning, just not super early anymore. Texas heat demands early morning hike for The Pugs + Poodle with Oodle!!!!

And somewhere in the shuffle I picked up a meditation companion. Lyric decided my shoulder is his spot now. Lyric settles in, goes quiet, and stays there the whole session — which, if you know cockatoos, is nothing short of a small miracle.
There’s something about sitting still with an animal who’s chosen to be still with you. He’s not performing. Lyric is just there. That’s the whole lesson right there. Sprinkle the Glitter!!! by @go.lynnie

Okay this one is kind of freaky in the BEST way, Flamboyance!!!!!!

Lyric got curious about the device in my hand — the one that follows him around all day — and gave us the ultimate up-close-and-personal beak inspection. That tongue, that curve, that attitude… I never get tired of how gloriously strange these birds are. 💖💖💖

My love for animals has been woven into my life for as long as I can remember — I have zero memories of being a child without a furry companion by my side!!

Charm Charm Sparkles is one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received, and I’m endlessly grateful to share my days with this sweet soul. Just look at that peaceful little face. 💖🦄💖🦄💖

Storytime! 😂

Almost 80 years ago - Mommy/Daddy decided to take one of those iconic horse-drawn carriage rides through Central Park in NYC. Sounds dreamy, right?

Well... not exactly.

The horse was visibly lame.

Meanwhile, Mommy and Daddy were celebrating their engagement... and instead of simply enjoying the ride, Daddy found himself doing what veterinarians do best—examining the carriage horse and rendering a diagnosis right there in Central Park!

Let’s just say that romance took an unexpected detour that day.

Needless to say, no Goodman has ever taken another Central Park carriage ride since!

Savor life.
That’s the whole lesson Lyric is dropping on us today — one sunflower shell, one perfectly present minute of pure joy. No rushing. No multitasking. Just a cockatoo fully DELIGHTED to be exactly where he is.

Watching Lyric, felt my whole nervous system exhale. This is what our animals do best — they pull us right back into the now. Sublime doesn’t even cover it.

Sharing the best news I’ve had all year — my sister is officially cancer-free. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Of course I wanted to mark the moment with flowers, and of course there was a hiccup….If you’ve ever tried to send joy across state lines, you know.

It is SUMMERTIME HOT in ATX and I’m just gonna say it — I do the sniff test. Every single day.

Post-Pug/Poodle hike? Post-barn time with Elf? Post-gardening in the Texas sun? Honey… sniff test with a prayer.

But NOW I’m sniffing myself for a whole different reason. I found the most divine scent — Summer 26 by Ffern and I am obsessed.

A little serendipity for you today — Ffern showed up in my feed, I got intrigued, and I signed up for their seasonal essential oil perfume. Summer 26, The scent is genuinely divine — deep, layered, not overpowering, just… ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS & PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!

And here’s the plot twist: I found it through a social media AD. So to all my small business people out there… YES. Ads work. They work on ME. Keep going. Keep showing up. Somebody out here is smelling fabulous because you didn’t quit…..
