🎾 STATE TENNIS RESULTS - DAY 2! 🎾 ⭐ PATRIOTS CLIMB TO 7TH IN CLASS B! The Adams Central Patriots continued their strong showing at the NSAA Class B Boys State Tennis Championships Thursday, finishing Day 2 with 18 team points and moving into seventh place in the team standings! 🎾 No. 2 Doubles Keaton Redline (11) and Jonah Roback (12) had an outstanding day, earning a spot in the semifinals! They defeated Elkhorn’s Ethan Ni and Gavin Vazquez – 6-4, 6-1, before knocking off GICC’s Barrett Suminski and Oliver Vance – 6-1, 7-5, in the quarterfinals. They will face top seeded Lexington today with a spot in the championship match on the line! 🎾 No. 1 Doubles Isaac Ablott (12) and Brenson Underwood (11) opened the day with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Lincoln Pius X’s Gregory Henkenius and Samuel Schauer. They then faced top seeded Mount Michael Benedictine, falling 4-6, 1-6. The Patriots will meet GICC in a consolation match Friday, with a fifth place medal still within reach! ⭐ 🎾 No. 1 Singles Titus Johnson (12) wrapped up his season with a 5-7, 4-6 loss to Scottsbluff’s Hayden Garey. Titus has been the Patriots’ top player all season, finishing with 27 wins, one of the highest season totals in program history! Head Coach Ed Sughroue praised Titus for his leadership and the impact he has made on the team through his play, not only this season but during his junior year as well. Now, the Patriots are ready to take advantage of Friday’s opportunities as Redline and Roback pursue a championship match berth and Ablott and Underwood fight for a fifth place medal! 🎾 Tennis State Match Day! 🎾 PATRIOTS SET FOR CLASS B STATE TENNIS TOURNAMENT! β­πŸ’™πŸŽΎ Adams Central will take four entries into the Class B State Tennis Tournament, with Titus Johnson leading the singles lineup and two doubles teams earning seeds in the tournament draw. Johnson earned the No. 6 seed at No. 1 singles and will face Bennet Nikalla of Kearney Catholic in the opening round. Johnson enters the tournament with a 26-14 record. At No. 2 singles, Oliver β€œOllie” Roback (5-16) will face 11th-seeded Alejandro Correa Astudillo of York. In doubles, Isaac Ablott and Brenson Underwood earned the No. 8 seed at No. 1 doubles. The duo, which holds a 21-14 record, will open against Gretna's Jayden Abegglen and Boston Campbell. At No. 2 doubles, Keaton Redline and Jonah Roback earned the No. 4 seed and will face South Sioux City's Ivan Ramirez and Natanael Carreto-Mendez. The pair has put together a 17-5 record this season. 🎾 Tennis Senior Spotlight! 🎾 As the Adams Central tennis team prepares for state tomorrow, we want to recognize our three seniors, Jonah Roback, Titus Johnson, and Isaac Ablott! 🎾 🌟 Jonah Roback has been a key part of the Patriots’ doubles lineup, competing at No. 2 doubles with Keaton Redline. The pair earned the No. 4 seed at the Class B State Tournament after putting together a strong 17-5 record this season! 🌟 Titus Johnson has led the Patriots at No. 1 singles, earning the No. 6 seed at State with a 26-14 season record. He also delivered several big wins at the State Dual Championships, helping Adams Central reach the semifinals and finish fourth in Class B! 🌟 Isaac Ablott has been a leader in the doubles lineup, teaming up with Brenson Underwood at No. 1 doubles. The duo earned the No. 8 seed at State and helped the Patriots with important wins throughout the season, including at the State Dual Championships! These seniors have represented Adams Central with determination and competitive spirit throughout their tennis careers.
