I asked a few men in my life, “Why do you think I’m still single?” 👀 Their answers were interesting—and some were a little too honest! 😂 Let’s talk about it! Do you agree with what they had to say?

Good evening!

Receiving Entrepreneur of the Year is an honor.

First, I thank God. Entrepreneurship often means moving forward before you know how everything will work out, and my faith has helped me take those steps.

Thank you to the organizers Terry Mason Mba Mhrm and RodneyDj Darknite Lewis for this recognition. And to my Soror Jamia Steele, having you present this award makes it even more meaningful.

When I started Lashes & Moore in 2018, I believed in what I had to offer. But believing in yourself doesn’t mean you never get tired or question yourself. Sometimes it means taking a deep breath, saying a prayer, and showing up again.

Over the years, I’ve helped clients feel beautiful and taught women skills they can use to create opportunities. Watching a student go from “I don’t know if I can do this” to “I’m ready” reminds me why I started.

That purpose continues through Moore Than Beauty, where I want our young girls—our Butterflies—to know their worth, trust their voices, and see what’s possible.

My mother always told me, “You can do anything you put your mind to.” Mom, those words took root, and so much of what I’m building began with you believing in me.

To my family, friends, clients, and students: thank you. Every referral, encouraging word, and choice to support my business helped make this moment possible.

I’m excited to keep teaching, encouraging, and growing alongside women and girls.

Someone once helped me believe I could. I want my work to give someone else that same beginning.

Thank you.
