History made 🧤

David Raya has won Save of the Month, with his penalty save becoming the first ever to win the award 🏅

THROWBACK TO ANFIELD. 🧤
Manchester City were minutes away from a dramatic 2–1 win over Liverpool when one final chance fell to Alexis Mac Allister.

In the 99th minute, Mac Allister’s deflected effort looked destined for the top corner, but Donnarumma produced an incredible full-stretch save to keep City in front. 🧤

A huge save in a huge moment and one that helped City leave Anfield with all three points.

But the save wasn’t the only thing that went viral.

Pep Guardiola’s reaction on the touchline, recreating Donnarumma’s movement, quickly became one of the moments of the game. 😂

Liverpool 1–2 Manchester City.

Pierce Charles is making headlines 🧤

The 21-year-old Northern Ireland international has been turning heads in recent days, and his latest performance for QPR against West Ham was another statement of intent.

🔥 With the game level at 1–1, Charles produced a stunning double save from Jarrod Bowen’s stoppage-time penalty, reacting brilliantly to deny the rebound and help the R’s secure a valuable point.

🌍 He had already impressed on international duty, saving a penalty from PSG’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in Northern Ireland’s 1–0 win over Georgia.

📈 Now establishing himself as QPR’s first-choice goalkeeper in the Championship, Charles is showing why Manchester City invested in bringing him back to the club before sending him out on loan.

Still only 21, his journey is just getting started, but the talent is there for all to see.

👀 Pierce Charles. Remember the name.

“It’s time for Unai Simón to get some recognition” 🗣️

Many fans have doubted Luis De La Fuente’s choice of Unai Simón between the sticks, especially ahead of this years world cup as Spain formed the most stacked GK union in the World. However another great performance for his nation last night has put him at the forefront of conversations once again 🇪🇸

Despite the criticism and the doubts from some sections of the Spain support, Unai Simón remains Luis de la Fuente’s No.1 and following the last game the Spain boss made himself clear by speaking out saying people need to put some respect on Unai Simon’s name 🧤

The numbers speak for themselves. In his last 38 appearances for Spain, Simón has won 31, drawn seven and lost none. Along the way, he has lifted the European Championship and the World Cup, producing a formidable tournament at the latter and winning the Golden Glove 🔝

Now, he is in the running for the Yashin Trophy alongside the rest of Spain’s GK union and the boss hopes one of them will take the prize home from the Ballon D’or ceremony at the end of this month 🏆

Perhaps one of the most underrated goalkeepers of his generation, Simón’s numbers are already part of Spain’s history, not just its present 🔥

Does Unai Simón deserve the Yashin Trophy this year?🤔👇

🎂 HAPPY 34TH BIRTHDAY, ALISSON BECKER!
Liverpool’s number one and one of the finest goalkeepers of his generation celebrates his 34th birthday today 🧤🇧🇷

#alisson #brazil #Liverpool #premierleague #goalkeeper

🇧🇷 THE BEGINNING

Alisson came through the ranks at Internacional in Porto Alegre, making his first-team debut in 2013.
In 2014, he won his first major honour with the club, lifting the Campeonato Gaúcho. More silverware would follow during his time in Brazil.

🇮🇹 THE MOVE TO ROME

In 2016, Alisson made the move to Europe, joining AS Roma for around €8 million.
What looked like a promising investment would soon become one of the biggest steps of his career.

🏟️ THAT NIGHT AGAINST BARCELONA

In 2018, Alisson played a key role in Roma’s historic Champions League comeback against Barcelona.
After losing the first leg 4-1, Roma produced a remarkable 3-0 victory at the Stadio Olimpico to reach the semi-finals, with Alisson playing a crucial part in that unforgettable night.

🌎WORLD CUP DEBUT

2018 also saw Alisson make his World Cup debut with Brazil.
He started all five of Brazil’s matches in Russia as they reached the quarter-finals before being eliminated by Belgium.

🔴 WELCOME TO LIVERPOOL

That summer, Liverpool made Alisson the world’s most expensive goalkeeper at the time, paying around €73 million to bring him to Anfield.
It was a record fee for a goalkeeper, although it would later be surpassed.

🏆 CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE

Just one year after arriving, Alisson lifted the Champions League with Liverpool.
He started the final against Tottenham and played a fundamental role throughout the campaign as Liverpool secured their sixth European Cup.

🥇 A YEAR OF INDIVIDUAL HONOURS

2019 was also a remarkable year individually.
Alisson won the Yashin Trophy, The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper award and the UEFA Goalkeeper of the Year award, while finishing 7th in the Ballon d’Or.

🇧🇷COPA AMÉRICA CHAMPION

That same year, Alisson lifted his first and, so far, only major international trophy with Brazil.
He kept a clean sheet in the final as Brazil beat Peru 3-1 to win the Copa América on home soil.

👑 30 YEARS OF WAITING

PROVING WHY HE’S AMONGST THE BEST 🔥

For the month of September David Raya has been nominated TWICE for the Premier League Save Of The Month award, something that has already happened this season in August when Tzolakis occupied 2 of 6 nominee spots 👀

David Raya has a strong claim in the race for this months prize with his first entry being a great save in against Chelsea’s Estevao, reaching high into his goal to turn the effort over 🧤

The second entry is a save from the penalty spot, which at face value is an unusual way to make this list HOWEVER…

WHAT A SAVE it was 💥

At a crucial moment of the game David Raya turned Le Fee’s penalty away from the goal beyond reach of the all the attackers keeping his side in the game 🔥

With 4 other possible winners, do you think Raya will win the prize?👀🧤

🌍 INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL IS BACK.

And with it comes another stage for some of the most recognisable names between the posts.

The UEFA Nations League returns tonight and once again, the goalkeeping storylines are impossible to ignore. 🧤

#NationsLeague #Goalkeepers #Goalkeeping #InternationalFootball #Goalkeeper

🇩🇪 Marc-André ter Stegen.

Perhaps one of the most intriguing stories of the tournament.

Now at Ajax and back in Germany’s squad, the 34-year-old has earned some international caps, but has yet to play a single minute at a major international tournament.

He missed the 2022 World Cup through injury, making this opportunity with Jürgen Klopp all the more special.
A new chapter awaits🧤

🇳🇱 Bart Verbruggen

Still only 24, but already established as the Netherlands’ first choice. His Euro 2024 debut made him the third-youngest goalkeeper ever to play at a European Championship. Another major international stage awaits 🧤

🇳🇴 Ørjan Nyland

Fresh from an impressive World Cup campaign, the 36-year-old enters a new chapter after moving to RB Leipzig with regular football still very much part of his story 💪🏽

🇮🇹 Gianluigi Donnarumma

His story hardly needs an introduction. A European Championship winner, a Nations League winner and already a veteran of this competition at just 27. This will be his fifth Nations League 🫰🏽🫡

🇧🇪 Senne Lammens

A new chapter for Belgium. Following Thibaut Courtois’ international retirement, Lammens steps into a new era, backed by his continued development at Manchester United 👏🏽

🇪🇸 Unai Simón

World champion, Golden Glove winner and Nations League champion. There is little left to introduce, only another major tournament to perform on 😮‍💨🔥

🇵🇹 Diogo Costa

A World Cup standout, a familiar face in the Nations League and already a winner of the competition. Portugal’s goalkeeper returns with another title in sight 🏆

🇫🇷 Mike Maignan

Another former Nations League winner. Having lifted the trophy in 2021, Maignan returns with France and another opportunity to compete for international silverware.🙌🏽

🇭🇷 Dominik Livaković

A fresh start at club level just days before returning to international duty. by @goalkeepers365

HE’S BACK 🧤🇩🇪

But how did we get here?👀

➡️➡️➡️

You will remember that this summer Manuel Neuer was brought out of international retirement to try give Germany the best chance at the World Cup but it wasn’t to be as the Germans were unsuccessful in their journey to win another World Cup ❌

➡️➡️➡️

The return of Neuer saw Baumann sidelined despite manager at the time Julien Nagelsmann speaking out saying Oliver Baumann would be his choice in a press conference ahead of the World Cup 👀

Naturally Baumann was disappointed but said he would be ready to help his country whenever the moment came 👏🏽🇩🇪

To be fair to Baumann it took maybe the positions best ever talent to move him aside for that tournament which is nothing to be ashamed of 🤷🏼‍♂️

➡️➡️➡️

Following Die Mannschaft’s failure to win the World Cup manager Julian Naglesmann has departed his role resulting in Germany searching for a new manager ➡️

After the World Cup Ter Stegen recovered from injury and found his fitness as well as finding himself a new club 🧤

A new challenge for him with a loan move to Ajax has seen him playing regular first team football which has enhanced his chance of a selection for international football 🇩🇪➡️

Jurgen Klopp has now taken on a new challenge as the manager of his nation. This international break brings us Jurgen Klopp’s first squad selection for Die Mannschaft and at his disposal is a highly talented GK union 🧤🇩🇪

Klopp intends to make Ter Stegen the number 1 for this squad and additionally has NOT selected Oliver Baumann which may come as a surprise 👀

We want to know your thoughts and who you would be picking for this squad 📲
