Can distributed biochar projects access carbon credit revenue?

That’s the question we’ll explore at the July 1st Biochar On Site Monthly Meetup.

Topic:
Entry and Mid-Tech in Existing Methodologies: Selecting the Right Protocol for Your Distributed Biochar Project

Wyatt Catron of 3Degrees will share how flame cap kilns, mobile carbonization systems, and other field-based biochar approaches may fit within existing carbon crediting methodologies, including Climate Action Reserve, Verra, Rainbow, Isometric, and others.

Wihan Bekker shares how emerging digital tools can help practitioners collect and manage the MRV data these projects require.

For BOS practitioners, this has increasing relevance as Carbon credits may become a real revenue pathway that helps make local, place-based biochar work pencil out.

Need a bag!! Dropping off a donation to @treeutah for their new plantings and maintenance on existing trees! Contribution provided by GoBiochar and MicroRevive by @futurefreshfarmsinc. Carbon + biology is a win all around!

First try!! Almost made it! This is how you one-person unload…. When it works.

We generally are unloading semi trailers full with a forklift. The local small deliveries hit different.

Support urban greening. Go to TreeUtah .org and donate today.

Wow. So unbelievably honored to make the front page of the Park Record today in a beautifully written piece by none other than, the great and powerful @katiehatzfeld ! She truly has been a force in our local media, and is incredibly talented. I was lucky enough to be there when she first started covering natural resource management for the @parkrecord and it has been a pleasure to watch her career blossom.

I want to thank my best friends and business partners @tomraymondflyfishing and @mac__free who really made all of this possible by pushing me to do this and supported me every step of the way.

Thank you to our 2 star employees @sydney.petersen and @noahgraffover who honestly do a lot of the heavy lifting. Both literally and figuratively 😂.

Shout out to @gazleah with @wellgoodmedia for taking these incredible photos and cheering me on relentlessly.

And a huge thank you to someone I’m stoked to call a friend and mentor, John Webster with @gobiochar (also featured in the article). Since the beginning John has brought his wealth of knowledge and experience in the biochar sector to the table and opened doors I didn’t even know were there.
