I have so much more to say about why I need to do this, maybe eventually I’ll write out everything, but as for Instagram now is goodbye. One of the reasons it was hard to finally do this was because I have used instagram as a sort of art portfolio in the past, but I haven’t been able to post any of the material I’ve been making for so long, it’s not even genuinely useful as that anymore. It simply doesn’t align with my values as an artist anymore, and I’d rather give artistry exclusive to the real world a try than remain in the limbo of potential success versus moral objection. This place and many others are a bottomless pit of rot that I no longer want any part of. I object to the robbery of artists in the creation of vapid AI slop, and I object to the exploitation of every ounce of genuine creative intent/ interest to make tech companies richer. I get more joy out of running into a friend on the street than I ever will from the passing glance of one like out of however many. I get more inspiration from spending 30 minutes looking at a piece of art on a wall than I will ever get from looking at something just as fantastic for 30 seconds during a daily doom scroll. Made another poster! For @thecavenc , short turn around but I really like it, I mostly just wanted to make a nice collage.
I hope my buddies are ok with me using their visages for this <3
The second slide is just the insaneo version of the other, not sure why I made two but I just had to. I’ll probably make some prints of these for my own nefarious purposes.
Also oh MAN it took me so long to choose just 30 seconds from this song, I’m obsessed with this whole album right now, check it out.

Death jazz is happening this Tuesday at the cave!!
I was so inspired by it last time I wanted to start making the posters for it, and now I am!
Thanks to @danmackalactica for putting this awesome thing on, it’s so cool and I hope there’s so many more to come.
The song I put on the video is Weekend Christ by Solska, instagram didn’t have it but it was too perfect so I brute forced it on.
And then I added an early version of the poster as reel repellent heheh (please work).
I’ve really enjoyed making posters lately, maybe I’ll try to show more on here.

Come on down to the Attic 506 this Friday for open studios!! Starting at 6 and going until 9!
There will be a guest artist @erin.fei showing some things in the hallway and you wont want to miss it, also there will be Mario kart 64 set up on the rooftop!
I’ve got some new stuff, and a lot of in progress stuff that I’d love to show ya :) taken in Attic 506 by @goblinfig

Might as well post. A lot has been going on in my life, I haven’t been posting any of the art I’ve been making cause of that and I kinda miss it. I’ll try and do a slow roll out of stuff I’ve done lately when I have the energy :P

I’ve Seen You Tying Red Thread

I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to show this installation at @slug_space in the @attic506 , I’m finally getting around to posting the pictures after deinstalling yesterday.

This piece was largely a meditation on the connections I drew from studying current events and events that influenced art movements of a century ago. I became fascinated by the Strauss–Howe generational theory, which theorizes a recurring generation cycle in American and Western history. I felt deeply impassioned by the connections I drew, I have the energy to try and fight the worst of what the world becomes and I aimed to inspire this feeling in those who viewed the work. by @goblinfig

I just installed my very first solo show at The Concern in the Attic 506!!!! Kathryn Desplanque @gaybrunomars is also having an opening reception tonight for her installation P.E.S.C.Y at the Attic A.I.R. space so please come on out tonight if you can!! I finally finished this piece I’ve been working on for way too long… honestly I might keep editing it before I give it away. It’s called “jazz nights”
The first photo is a silly little version I made today layering some digital sketches on top. I like it a little more, but in a totally different way than the original.
OH!!! Also. I got a bunch of nice pictures of my new room!! I feel so happy and inspired and cozy in here, I’m excited for 2023.

Idk why it’s been so hard for me to post lately, but here I go. A lot has happened since my last post, I moved into my first actual apartment, I’ve been teaching art, I’ve been making art, I have a lot to share!!! This piece, or, collection of pieces is mostly me processing this drastic change, I started work on most all of the canvases right before or during the moving process, and then completed and hung them with the help and inspiration of my friends here. I feel like I want to add more to this, and edit some of what is already here, but for now it definitely makes me feel at home.

I’m gonna try to make a post later tonight showing off my room, it’s a piece of art in and of itself, as well as some other sketches and little things I’ve done recently. All I gotta do it clean up…
