I haven't been able to convince Google maps, but Ford Lane is closed for construction until some time in mid- to late-fall 2025.

To get to my store, you'll need to enter through the town parking lot on Main Street, which is located between Goya's Pizza and the post office. My store is in the same building as Goya's (96 Main), just around the side with my door opening onto the parking lot. It looks pretty plain from the outside, but there's lots of glorious colour once you step through the door! taken in Sackville, NB by @gobsmackedyarn

That lovely dark nubbly rainbow batt that I had in the window yesterday? Too subtle.

I mean, it's gorgeous in person and I admired it all day yesterday from inside, with the light streaming through it.

But.

When I walked up to work today, I realized that from outside it just looked brown-ish and fuzzy. All of the colour was washed out and it looked.... well, friends, it kinda looked like a beard from an old Halloween costume.

So: new batt!

Still highlighting the same delightful spinning classes coming in November, taught by the talented Lorna @shadesofewe [edit to fix this tag]

Images: an exterior view of the front window with a sign listing Lorna's classes and a super-bright rainbow batt hanging up underneath the sign. 2. A close-up of the batt from inside, backlit by the bright sunshine. If it looks imperfect, well, it probably is! I'm looking forward to learning more about how to use my drum carder. by @gobsmackedyarn

Sunlight shining through a newly carded batt-- also known as an experiment to see if I can turn a batt into a window display!

It's in honour of the spinning classes that @shadesofewe is teaching at gobsmacked on November 14 & 15:

14 Nov. 12-4: Carding & Blending Basics
Learn to use blending boards and drum carders to make different fibre combos and preparations for spinning.

15 Nov. 10-2:30: Spinning Art Yarn Level 1: Singles Techniques
Start playing with texture as you explore techniques for spinning thick and thin (on purpose! lol), spinning bulky, and simple wrapping techniques.

Sound fun? Classes are held at gobsmacked yarn in downtown Sackville, New Brunswick. Find all the details on my website!

Last day of @fibrefestival.pei and the marketplace is already hopping!

I'm here with loads of yarn and some terrific samples-- including a Fairwind shawl that's hot off the needles! (Thanks for knitting it, @estregger)

We'll be here in Charlottetown until 4 pm today!

Quite possibly the most gradient yarn that I've ever had in one place at one time.

I honestly don't know how I managed it, as my frozen shoulder is still frozening and I've been working at approximately 40% of Full Marit since February or thereabouts. These shelves of yarn represent steadily pushing the edges of that 40% capacity since June. When I look at this wall of beautiful yarn, I'm proud of what I've done-- but it kinda makes me want to weep.

Anyway, forgive the feelings; they're valid, but they're also not the end of the story. Here's what's next:

The remaining yarn will be up on my website for an epic update in late October. I promise it'll be worth the wait!

Total. Chaos.

The dye table is filthy, the dye bottles have reached maximum chaos, and the yarn is piling up on drying racks and counters and shelves and tables and my desk.

I have so much yarn to bring to the PEI Fibre Festival this week! I'll show you some of it over the next few days.

And if you're someone who's intrigued by process, or just likes vicarious chaos, keep an eye on my stories: I find it motivating to share progress photos.
