If you’re struggling with gambling, know this: the urge that feels unbearable right now will pass, and the person you are is not defined by your worst bets.

Addiction isn’t a moral failing. It’s a pattern that hijacks the brain’s reward system, and patterns can be rewired.

Every day you choose not to gamble is a day you’re taking something back: your time, your relationships, your peace of mind.

Recovery rarely moves in a straight line, and a setback isn’t the end of the story. Many people like me, who now live free of gambling once believed they never could.

You don’t have to do this alone. Talking to someone, whether a friend, a counselor, or a support group like Gamblers Anonymous, can lighten the weight.

You are not alone! by @god.maven
