👉🏽 “I have a natural life sentence for armed robb*ry, kidnapping and more. I was incarcerated in 1995. For the first 10 years, I just lived the prison life. I had no direction, I had no advice that I could give to my beautiful daughters that were growing up. In April 2006, Jesus Christ came into my life and I surrendered my life to Him. God has had me on an amazing journey. He has given me purpose for life. I went to seminary inside of prison and got a degree in Christian ministry. Even before that God was using me. He gave me a heart to serve, even in a prison. Serve these incarcerated men, show them the love of Jesus by loving them. I have been in prison for 26 years and God has given me such purpose and direction. I know this is why He created me for such a time as this. While being in prison, I have been involved with God Behind Bars. I have felt so complete serving with God Behind Bars. I have 4 daughters, 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. I feel so so blessed. I am excited for the years to come and the people I can love inside of prison. God has really blessed my life. 🙏🏼This inmate comes up WEEPING! He said that God TOUCHED me today. He CALLED me today. He couldn’t stop weeping! He knelt down and gave his life to Jesus… then he ran to get baptized…he almost slipped and fell he was so excited! LISTEN to his words that he says! Revival is here! ‼️ Amy’s story is like so many of our own- trying to navigate the world without ever truly knowing who (or Whose!!) we are. So we fill the gaps with anything that feels good- another high, another relationship, whatever it takes to silence the ache!But God🙌 He answers those quiet prayers prayed in the dark!👉 We spent 3 days in a Mississippi prison hearing stories of women like Amy, and then wrote songs inspired by what we heard. 🙏🏼This inmate stepped into the baptism pool… AND ERUPTS IN WORSHIP! Before we baptized this woman, we asked: “Why do you want to be baptized?”. With a full heart, she began to sing, “I sought the Lord, and He heard, and He answered… that’s why I trust Him.” And suddenly, the entire prison started to praise. We gave her the mic and she led the prison in worship! Hands went up. Tears poured. People were jumping, shouting, praising Jesus.
